@@ameysutar9932 that is what I'm saying bruh the Government won't level the playing fields with these Japanese brands even if they produce here cause then tvs would have to get rid of their shitty brakes hero and re would have to get rid of their shitty after sales and companies like Honda and Yamaha will thrive ....just a lab check of the engine oils will tell you that India bikes have so poor machining that the level of particles(that is caused by friction due wear and tear after repeated use) that can damage the engine is almost 3 times more than their Japanese rivals ........RE IS SELLING BETTER BUILT BIKES IN EUROPIAN COUNTRIES......LET ALL THIS END

What do we need in life Money to buy bikes Garage to park our bikes Friends to enjoy the long ride A place over the top of mountain to enjoy the view after a long ride.

The amazing thing about simplicity is that initially simplicity is cheap as chips. And on the other side, finding simplicity costs money! So strange. Of course it doesn’t apply to the CB. It should have been cheap but it’s not 😨

@@shubhamtiwari2336 If people are demanding quality products at affordable rates shouldn't manufacturers listen to it? Isn't that how the market works? What happened to "listen to your consumers"? When people demand good quality stuff, companies offer it only at a premium, and later complain that consumers didn't demand it, so we didn't give it.

Over the period of 3 years I rode 20,000 km on my previous ‘Swiss Army Knife of Motorcycles’ (a 2015 Honda CB500X) and now, since 2 months ago, I’ve ridden another 3,500 km on my new (late 2021) model. My current ‘steed’ is the seventh motorcycle I’ve owned since 1973 and, like it’s predecessor …. it is a brilliant machine …. for what it was designed to achieve. It is nowhere near as light and nimble in the bush as was my 1973 Yamaha DT 175 or 2008 Yamaha XT250, as powerful and fast as my 2000 BMW K1200RS or as urban kewl as my Triumph Bonneville America - but it does what each of those machines did - but in a more modest manner. In that regard, this excellent review pretty well encapsulates what I have also grown to conclude.

Varun did a great job as always but would love to see Shumi Sir riding and sharing details as he loves this bike and already rode it twice.

Nice video, rode this bike in 2019, bikers came from Australia world tour and I rode this bike from Shinkhula to Padum I was amazed and a fan of this bike, hope to see this bike in my garage soon...

Everything about this bike is so simple. The only complicated aspect, thanks to the Honda India management is its pricing. I hope in the future they can increase the localization to lower the pricing on this.

The shots from the front 3 quarter while the bike was in motion was a visual delight. The slender form factor of the bike, the riding posture and the elevated front end altogether looked so relaxing and comfortable. It felt like a dream but it soon turned into a nightmare when you set your sight on the price tag..😟

Amazing how the entire auto journalism industry has taken upon themselves to prove this bike is a stunner! Bad pricing. Period. Let's move on and look forward towards bike launches by companies who take Indian market seriously.

let me tell you one thing. i own 2016 duke 390. i have been regularly maintaining my bike without missing any service intervals. despite such maintenance, i had to change the engine head completely due to wear. it ran only 25k kms. and trust me, once you open the engine , you have to keep on changing shims, valves, this and that. Imagine living with such head ache. Instead you can invest initially and keep riding it for a life time. KTMs are fun, value for money, but remember it's only for a short duration. Japanese brands are expensive, not as crazy as KTMs , but you can live with it for a life time.

I am an introvert & an atheist so lifestyle & thoughts will be different for sure in India.

Funny thing, this bike now costs on-road as much as what Honda charged ex-showroom during launch. 6.90lakhs in Mumbai. Looks like a sweet deal since you wont find any bike which is equally good at the same price.

It wouod have sold if it's on road price was two times that of the CB 350; some special bikes deserve to be showcased in a Museum, and, at it's price this is the perfect Museum Motorcycle showpiece.

Considering the look, i thaught that it would be around 3-4 lakh. Lol!!😅.

Re650cc is 3to4 lakh

I wish you guys would've gotten the NC750X too! It has a DCT automatic option, storage space for a helmet, and it's actually more economical than the 500x, you can get more than 30 km per liter - and that's a 750cc bike! It'd be nice if Honda India would introduce that bike too, and lower the 500x's price accordingly.

With Versys, if you drop the bike and fairing needs to be replaced then you are in trouble as it can take couple of months and the total fairing costs about 1.5lacs. Spares are not extremely expensive. You get after market ebc brake pads for 3k each, vesrah is1k, chain sprocket from DID/JT costs around 12k, entire ebc/Barnett clutch kit for 18k. It may sound weird, but the engine oil required is only 1.8litres. All these are available from bikenbiker, motousher etc. And then we have our desi hacks and jugads. Versys is easy to fix and a community to trust with eyes closed.

Just bought one love it! Great job doing the review 👏

A Shumi review is needed !

It's a premium to pay for this, but in the long run it makes sense considering Honda's reliability.

Why almost 7 lacs price for a 500 cc adv . This is india and we need less expensive with good features thats why people are going for Xpulse and Himalayan more.

Thank you honda for helping people choose the Trident 660. 10k more than the CB and you get so much more.

I've been looking forward to buying this bike since 2018 when rumours started surfacing that they might get this to India... But damn that pricing is way too high.. 6L on road is the max that this should be for this package...! Saying I'm disappointed is a major understatement...!

@@shu_mar I think it's expensive in India solely for the reasons of import taxes. I think India can make their own great bigger capacity engines RE has proved it. Instead of using KTM or BMW engines in their bikes, Indian manufacturers should develop their own bigger engines. Who knows in due time India could be leading motorcycle manufacturing for the world.

Expected shumi on the 500x since he had liked it very much and also somehow this doesn't feel like a PD video. I still watch your Versys 650 video which made me buy it after few years, that was a ™️ PD video

Well the new honda CB 500X is great looking ADV motorcycle. It looks good, the performance is good. For over 6.5 lakhs price its not a value for money motorcycle compared to affordable KTM 390 ADV Or more expensive bikes like versys 650. Still the CB 500X is a very good bike to live with. Wish honda could have priced the CB 500X in a competitive way. Also wish that they will consider bringing other 500cc models to here as well. Thanks guys it was very good first ride video 👌👌👍🤩🤩.

You’re right. Honda created a rather unfortunate riding event for us to ride and film. And I know it shows. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

Wait till it becomes second hand. Then buy at the Right price!!! Great All-rounder, comfortable, reasonably stylish, smooth, Reliable!!!

Sorry to say, bro, I love you, no doubt, but CBX 500 review should have been done by "SHUMI". Now back to the bike the only problem with this bike is 60-70K expensive (which is a lot of money) as compared to what CBX is offering. Honda missed out on the chance to nailed this segment. Yahama please come with Tenere 700.

im a rider in singapore riding this currently, its totally different comparing the RE 350 or Dominar 400 whatsoever comparing the 400cc series. the power this parallel twin engine delivers is such a huge leap due to its torquey engine. i've rode this from SG - Thailand - SG, gave me 0 issues, tested and abused in all terrian alr. comparing the ktm 390 adventure since everyone in india loves ktm, the ktm will lose with 0 effort. do your research first before talking abt a bike.

KTM's 490 lineup would pose a serious threat to the Honda 500 siblings

I have been waiting for Yamaha xsr 155 in india since past years and will wait for coming years but will buy only and only Yamaha xsr. I love that 155 cc engine.

It's like your crush or 1st love You see that there are different b/w you two but you just can't stop falling for her... It's just :)

This bike with a 300cc single will be right for many enthusiasts... With that comes down the price too.... **CB300X** 😎

If i hadn't bought the 390 adv, I would have seriously considered buying this even though the price is high cuz you cant put a price on reliability. but then again i'm just a Honda fan boy :D

In UK it's 1.5 lacs cheaper if conversion is applied . In Malaysia it's on road is 6.29 lacs converted.

Well, it does sound like the cb has impressed Varun too.. Now, with Honda having no habit of offering any discounts, it's time for a thorough test ride and calculate the EMI, towards the final decision.. Thankfully shumi already had a podcast on the finance part of it..

RE should fit the 650cc twin cylinder interceptor engine and make a adv!!! Would make a hell of a bike dominating the segment!!

I ride an NS200. I can feel the clutch slip at higher revs and there is loss of torque. Is it advisable to replace the entire clutch assembly or instead save some bucks by just replacing the friction plates?

I think it's past the time yamaha released something in India and this bike shows you a spectrum of colours

Everything about the CB500X seems to be simple, but the price. Wish Honda could have kept that under check and they would have had a volume winner at hand.

This will surely end up in discontinuing this model at the end of this year.

From last few videos the number of times Shumi mentioned this bike i was thinking this review would be done by him ;) .. Varun did a great job none the less . But the price sucks..

@@shu_mar Understandable. I'm happy that Honda is launching anything other than Activa but they need to do better with their pricing.

Would be appreciated if you guys would have made the exhaust note more audible at least for a couple of seconds instead of the continuous background score.

Is there any vibration issue around 4000-5000 rpm? Foreign users seem to complain about that

This is where my respect for Royal enfield has gone sky high they give excellent bikes at really good price point making this costly motorcycles out of question

U must be joking. The only VFM bikes they've rolled out are the 650 twins and even in them the front suspension sucks. I own a bs6 interceptor 650 and I had to go for aftermarket upgrades for the front suspension which set me back by another 25k.The 350s & 500s has very nice looks but they're a pain both in performance and handling, still they cost a bomb. So yeah RE is yet to make a mark in manufacturing VFM machines, in my opinion.

@@Lonewolf9898 hi, yes I've driven the Meteor and the suspension is stiff no doubt. This is because they mainly designed the Meteor to be stable for highway cruising. But you need not change the whole suspension for that. It comes with pre-load adjusters so u can manually adjust the suspension as per ur liking i.e make it harder or softer. And as for the aftermarket upgrades, meteor is a new bike, what now 4 months old? So I don't think the after market manufactures will make full suspension kit that soon for any bike. U can expect some by the end of this year, if the demand is high.

Guess the import tax is too high since it's ckd . It's not that expensive outside India, I got a ktm 390 adv and irrespective of what the perception towards ktm qualities are I didn't have any problems so far ( been using since 2017) and this is my second ktm after my 250 which I enjoyed like crazy. And as far 390 adv goes am in love 😍. Next upgrade will be a 790 or a 890 adv. 🤟

Doing that "aisa kuy kiya ..." Would have been fun :-D
