Honda CB175 Restoration - Part 3 - Final Assembly

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is part 3 of assembling the Honda CB175 restoration. I hope you like the final result of the bike. I had to complete it on a deadline as I was moving overseas and wanted to get it done before leaving. Enjoy.

Nice. Never seen one of these CB175 'slopers'. Here in the UK we got the CD175 'sloper' with the single carb, 4 speed gearbox, pressed steel frame and single leading shoe front brake. They went very well and lasted well unless the centrifugal oil filter was ignored or/and oil changes neglected. Nice to see you doing your oil filter. We did get the later CB17f with the more upright cylinders, rounder tank and rev counter. Nice little bikes. Upright CD175s, not so much. Handling just okay, 6V electriccs and a bit porky but you could mix and match parts and brew your own late CD175 with twin carbs, 5 speeds 12 volts and 2LS brake which would go and handle well.

Yeah, these things are amazing. Honestly changing the wheel bearings, I realised how much weaker the new bearings were that I just put the originals in since they were working just fine. They made them solid.

What did you do to get the giant tank dent out?

So I took it to and old-school panel beater. He was an old man and used a traditional technique. Cut out top part, straighten to shape, weld back in. Grind welds etc..
