Full cafe racer build from start to finish - time lapse
To look at this episode is both awesome and surreal for me. Its amazing to see all the parts of the build, all in one 10 minute-is video. On the other hand, it's overwhelming to think about the work that went into each stage and how this montage really only shows a snapshot of each stage.
I've enjoyed putting this together and for sure, and have really enjoyed the entire process. I hope this motivates others to take the same leap I have. The hard part is deciding to do it..... so do it!! You won't regret it :)
Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoy the video

Hey man, thanks for checking out the video. Man I’m delighted to hear you’re considering giving it a go. I had zero experience when I started the build. It’s daunting I know, but the community is amazing, and you can find anything you need to from KZread and online forums. I can’t encourage you enough :) you won’t be sorry. In the first video of season one, I made a video setting up the reason why I was going to give it a try, and I had no confidence with it. I’ve learned so much, and have so much more confidence with it. The hard part, is making yourself stick to it. The build may take you a year or two, so it’s important to give yourself a realistic deadline. If you ever need help, just reach out 👍

Awesome build! Very impressed of how the bike started and ended up looking new. But we all need to know. Did the lady of the house give you an ultimatum, either the bike or her. And is that why we see the bike on a Uhaul with your smile from ear to ear? Cause we want to know if you made the right decision....LOL

sick build. from what i've read its a bit tricky to get spoke wheels to work on an f
Excellant build! Where did you get the clip on handle bars and how did you determine the angle?
@cafechronicles
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for tuning in Chris. The clip ons were from Amazon, www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B073VHT83L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 They are good quality. But I don't think I would recommend them as you don't have adjustment for the angle, only up/down along the fork and rotating away or toward the rider. I hope that helps.

hey man great build, just wondering what colour-way that seat is?

Hi Sean, the seat is from Tuffside and the details are: Universal Flat Seat - Upswept tail - kick-up - Seat Inlay Color: Dark Brown - Main Seat Color(back&sides): Dark Brown - Stitch Color: Natural - Stitch Style: Diamond Stitch - Seat Size: Big Honda (universal) I hope that helps, there are more details in the build series within the playlist on how I fitted it and made the latching system if you're interested. Thanks for tuning in. Steve

I used the Motogadget M-Unit controller and because of that I could use the RebelMoto pushbutton controls. I bought the clutch lever from Amazon, however, I wouldn't recommend this lever. I believe DimeCityCycles have better ones for the same price. I ended up using the stock master cylinder. In Season one, I have videos showing the install of the switches and the M-Unit in detail along with links in the descriptions which you may find interesting. If you go to the "CB750K 1977 Cafe/Brat Build" playlist, you will see the video. Happy building :)

Thanks 🙏 it was my first build, so it was a steep learning curve. Also I didn’t have a heater in my garage the first winter, so I lost a few months. That all being said, about 1.5 years. Thanks for checking out the video. I made a build series that gets into the details.
Hey great build! Can I ask what the pull handles form the clutch and brake are, as well as that headlight! Love the turn indicators being included!
@cafechronicles
Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching. I wouldn’t recommend the clutch lever. I bought it from Amazon and I want to change it. The brake and master cylinder are the originals from the CB750K. The headlight I can for sure recommend as I’ve used it on two builds now and it’s excellent. You can find it here: www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B07Z5PDTTN?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

@cafechronicles

Hey nice work on the gl500. They're a lovely bike. Not sure if you like the tail light that I used on mine, but its very inexpensive and pretty well made. In the season 2 budget cafe build series I'm doing currently, we have just bought another the same as for the Kawasaki KZ750.

Great job with the electric-electronic things, engine, frame, wheels, gauges, paint, etc. My only criticism is the seat, looks very well made and good quality but I hate the brat seat on a cafe racer bike (cafe-brat??), so if I install an ape hanger on an R1 how should I call it? sport-chopper?
