Welcome aboard!

The oil problem is from the valve cover gaskets not the valves itself. Each spark plug has a rubber gasket/seal to keep the oil out! Honda design problem 101!

Get the oil filter socket that goes on the end it’s like 7$ at autozone. Also jack up the front next time to get all the dirty oil out Ps that bar ties the rollercoaster bar to the back seat by the arm rest

I just found your channel and had to subscribe. I've been a Honda fan for 17 years and I've always thought it would be cool to have a Kei car. I have a 92 Civic VX(my first Honda) and a 2010 Fit. I had a 91 Accord that had the same problem with oil in the spark plug tubes. When you replace the valve cover gasket, make sure you get the seals that go around the spark plug tubes. Good luck with getting everything in running order!

It’s only been about 5 years ago since I’ve been aware of Kei vehicles and I’m a fan. I’m thinking about getting one of the Russian 4x4 vans

As a former technician of 27 years I have to say, that was the biggest thing that pissed me off each and every time. Once you lube the o ring just snug it and don’t worry about it that’s why you crank it up after to check for anything possibly troublesome.

@@Waybeforethefame I noticed that you’re based in NYC, so am I right from the boogie down Bronx😆. I guess those mini trucks are an option to these truck prices now a days. Every car make wants way too much money for these damn trucks, I enjoy your channel and I can learn a thing or two about kei trucks. Good luck with the channel my brother.

I'm not a Honda guy but I'm digging this Acty Street, and the price seemed like a good deal. I don't even try to remove the oil filters by hand. Even when I installed it hand tight, they tighten up after a year. I like the looks of the black rims but not the extra lug holes on the universal rims. I'd 3D print covers for the central bore holes. My plan is to remove the tires from the plain ugly steel rims on my Hijet pickup, sand blast the rust off the rims, powder coat them black and install new tires. For my 4WD Hijet, I'm going for functional & durable and not particularly pretty. I was glad this tune up was less exciting than your Beat tune up. 🙂 I wouldn't spray carb cleaner into a cylinder. I'd turn it over with the plugs out if there was oil in the cylinders. Hopefully, you had oil in the spark plug wells from a leaky valve cover gasket but not oil leaking into the cylinders.

I think its most likely a bad valve cover I'm going to look into it more in the next couple days but I'm starting to like the street Alot more than the Honda beat

@@Waybeforethefame - The Street is certainly more useful than the Beat. The Beat looks like a ton of fun but there is definitely something to be said for the Street's utility. I'd like to drive the Beat but I'd like to OWN a 4WD kei van.

The bar connects to the middle of the "roller coaster bar" when nit is in the up position, the other end connects to the side of the passenger seat above the arm rest (you can see it when you lower the arm rest). this makes a "T" shape bar when all is installed.

Yes, Yes, Yes...I second jonathan on the oil filter wrench - either the socket style or the band that wraps around the body of the filter. And I'm a subscriber and I've been digging all the videos but but but these older vehicles when purchased from a curbside dealer behind a chain link fence will no doubt need mechanical work and not simply dressing up the vehicle.

I think ima need to get a filter wrench asap. And yeah for $4800 I knew this car wasn’t going to be perfect but I still think it was a steal

That bar should screw into one of the seats on the and the other end to that roller coaster bar.

At wally there's a universal 3 finger oil filter tool that grabs tighter as u twist it off there totally worth the money I'm telling ya

u got a bad valve stem seals. thats normally why u got oil soaked plugs, if the boots are wet its also tube seals

I never wanted one of these until I saw YOUR videos. At 6’6”, I have no business in one of these, but I want one soooo bad. I kick myself bcz just about a month ago there was one at the local govt auction, I think came from the airport. Question for you: are the pedals the same as our normal vehicles (accelerator on the right foot, clutch & brake on left foot)?

Hey yeah so the petals are the same, along with the shift pattern. And at 6'6 yeah itll be a little hard to get in a kei van but you can still a weird JDM van like a Toyota hiace, Delica or one of the bigger vans

I have done oil changes on many cars and at no point have I ever encoutered a filter that can just be hand screwed off..

I have a different experience, most of the kei cars I buy I can take them off by hand no problem. Takes some strength but I never need to grab tools to help

Pull the to front seats all the way up and there should be access to the 2 side bolts

Agree about the wheels, far too sombre. Much better if they were painted silver, or even white, and the brake calipers and drums given a bit of colour.........not too bright though, maybe a lighter version of the body colour.

@@Waybeforethefame Maybe a satin silver or chrome set. Something with some bling that catches the eye. Especially if you plan on using it to advertise your brand. You want people to take notice. The black ones were ok, but its a dark colored vehicle and they just blend in and look plain.

@@Waybeforethefame A possible option is to have rims hydro dipped. Imagine white with your Way Before the Fame logo, or some radical pattern. One of a kind hyrdo dipped rims would really set your Honda apart from the rest.

@@Waybeforethefame Two ways you can go; I've got a long double bend that I found like in a dollar store. The other is to go to NAPA, or someplace that sells real garage stuff, and get a flexible metal one. It will cost you more, but you' ll have it the rest of your life- assuming you don't loan it out.
