Honda Accord Heater Control Valve Replacement (2003-2007)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a tutorial on how to replace your heater control valve on a 2003-2007 Honda Accord 4 Cylinder. My heater control wasn’t working so I went under the hood and manually turned the valve which indicated a bad heater control valve. I pulled one from the junk yard and replaced it.

This tutorial was extremely helpful and saved myself ~ $300 of having a mechanic or dealership doing it for me One odd thing that might be of use is that after replacing the heater control valvce (I used Genuine Honda part #79710-SDA-A01), I had to manually adjust the valve to the hot position, then back to the cold position. After doing that, I cranked the heat up and then I was able to get hot air again. It does seem like the blue cable doesn't have enough slack, because after letting the car sit and cool down for about 15 mins, I had to manually adjust the valve again back and forth until I saw it was moving by itself when adjust the temperature in-car. Not sure if there's a "break-in" period for the part or if the middle screw needs to be loosened slightly to allow more freerer movement, but I thought this was interesting enough to note. I don't anticipate doing this again anytime soon, and I'm impressed the original part lasted about 236K before failing

Hey thanks for watching! Mine was good to go and didn’t need a break in period because I got it from the junk yard and it’s still going strong. You may have gotten a faulty one. Keep an eye on it and if your problem persists just exchange it for another. Happy to hear my video helped! Hope you subscribe!
