She said don't go off on your own, but most of the time Madoka is the one who left her alone. :( That's not Madoka's fault for the most part, but still. It's kind of sad to realize that.

yeah.. every time to see about what she said before and after know everything it cost me heartache . before : " you have a cool name Homurachan. you should be confident and be cool as your name " then Homura change herself and to be cool personal > Madoka : she scared me. Madoka after meet Homura ( become magical girl can't help to be forgotten. ) : I never forget you. also her : her memories reset every timeloop begin. last contract : I don't care what I gonna be . I gonna break the rules and make the new one so no more magical girls have to suffering. in rebellion. back to her normal life , Homucifer do take care everything instead of her : I think the rules are important . it not good to break it. just like Homura said to Madoka " you're good person and too kind. that might cost the pain to someone who nearby you. "

Madoka is truly a god in the sense that she loves everyone equally, but she herself cannot be reached or held by a singular person and she never seemingly loses her purity, when all goes to shit, she's still there for Homura, almost mockingly, how can after so much that has happened not have changed her in any meaningful way? That's Madoka, it's no wonder Homura calls herself a demon, what else could go agaisnt God?

Homura always tries to handle things by herself. She always thinks she is to blame for everything and therefore she has to do everything alone and suffers. I thought only Coolmura has that mindset because she doesn't rely on anyone, so it surprises me that even her old self still does that. No one knows whether or not in her timeloops, it is a frequent thing. It's probably in her nature to go off by herself. She's reckless, judging by how she put her life on the line for Sayaka in the first ep of Magia Record season 2. Maybe because of her low self-esteem, and because of her self-worth problems, which is sad. It's much more severe than Madoka's because Madoka even knows to seek others' support and realizes what to do instead of trying to handle matters that will cost her life. So many times Madoka and the team reminded her that she needed to have someone's back, but once again in Rebellion, she tries to do that again, suffers alone by herself. At this point I wouldn't surprised if Madokami got mad about this. I need her to.

But Homura already learn that how many time Madoka try to seek for her will end up with her dead. And then cost the timeloops again so she can't take any risk. In Homura's perspective she only need to keep Madoka safe as possible even it might be upset or hurt her feeling. ( as you see in the coolmura timelines ) Also sometime I can't help myself to feel annoying on Madoka's behavior that she just try to risk her life for just seeking someone that she ' might' can help them. Especially after make a promise about ' won't become magical girl '. She still keep lead herself into the danger that make Homura more suffering in the hard times for keep her promise.

Rewatching Madoka Magica is always so painful, yet I do it so often because the story is amazing. I love Homura's character and I feel I discover something new about her every time I rewatch the series

I was so confused the first time i watched this because i thought those cut marks were a result of self-harm but realised they were likely battle scars. But i still think the self-harm imagery holds some meaning because Madoka is a stupidly selfless person always putting herself in harms way to help others. Her becoming Madokami to save all magical girls is a tragic solution and she's obviously suffering and only Homura understands this. They both in a way protect one another from themselves (Madoka telling Homura not to go off by herself and Homura trying to prevent Madoka from sacrificing herself for the sake of others)

every time I think I'm coping with Homura and Madoka's situation they come back to just smack me upside the head and break my heart all over again. good fucking god I don't think an anime has ever been more tragic to me. Madoka promises over and over that she'd never leave Homura, yet fate prevents her from keeping that promise. and poor Homura. she's thrown away everything else in her life for Madoka and the entire universe just seems to be against her. yet she still keeps going. she's love in every sense of the word.

It's not impossible but boy would it not be healthy. If they actually get together it will be in the top 10 toxic ships for me. I can see Homura being very manipulative and clingy while Madoka, not wanting to hurt her friend/partner, goes along with it. It could be an amazing dissection of toxic relationships but yeah.

This video kinda makes me want to watch it all again, it would be the 5th time or something like that lol

the first two clips are from puella magi madoka magica (from the movie after the series, titled “rebellion”). the last clip is from the spin-off series magia record (season 2). madoka magica is a great show, highly recommend!
