I thank you for my healing from my accidental fall last Jan.24; continuously praying to the Lord, for You to take away the pain on my left shoulder and upper arm, especially at night. For my husband, Bonifacio Jr., LORD, do bless him with good health, productive preoccupations, and many earning opportunities for our family: help us in his management and sale of our other Abra properties, specifically the Karayan Corn Field, and grant to us his completion of the sale of our neighbor's property. We ask the Lord's guidance in his scheduled endoscopy and colonoscopy, keep him safe and heal all his current health afflictions, including his enlarged prostate. Raising my children's health and work to Your grace and mercy. Protect them and grant them immunity. Give them a safe and healthy atmosphere and success in their endeavors. Praying for their on-going individual projects to do well esp.Ivan's. Grant him (if it is Your will) an opportunity for a career change and advancement, dear God... Homily - April 28, 2024 - “I am the vine, you are the branches. Remain with me so that you will bear fruits.” - Many of us have leaves but bear no fruits. - You have many blessings, but there is no good fruit out of these. - The fruit is plastic, and this plastic fruit is only for the eyes. - The real fruits are from the heart and for the heart. - Ask yourself, “In my life, ano ang bunga ng buhay ko?” - Maybe you have all these material fruits that can impress us, but how about the fruits of your heart that can inspire us? - Don’t go for the fruits that are only for the eyes. - Hopefully, we can present to the Lord the fruits of our lives, which came from our hearts, at the end of our lifetime. - Hindi lang dapat maraming bunga, dapat tunay na bunga. - We honor parents who take care of their children, with much pain and sacrifice, it is a real fruit in their lives. - If we really want to bear real fruit, we need pruning. - Pruning is cutting. It involves pain. It is difficult to prune-to cut in order to reduce the branches. - When we prune our great vine, the decorations (plastic fruits) are removed-it is like going back to 0. However, after a few weeks, the leaves and real fruits came out because of pruning. - In our lives, we also need pruning. No pain, no gain. - If your life is just comfortable, easy, and relaxed, you will not bear much fruit. More so, you will not bear real fruits. - You can look back at your life. Some have gone through difficult pain, sickness, heartbreaks, and more. - Those were pruning moments because the Lord was planning something for you. - If you experience any pruning in your life, that makes you a better person, and a person closer to God. - If you are being pruned, do not be bitter-be better. - What to do when going through pruning? * Huwag kang maging praning. - Relax ka lang. Do not panic about what will happen, because God knows what He is doing. - What is the most important thing? - Psalm 46:10 - Be still, and know that I am God. - God has a plan and perfect timing for us. - Maybe the Lord is telling us, “Stay with me. Remain in me, even in the pain you will bear fruits.” - ‘Yong pinagdadaanan mo ngayon, someday, that thing will be the one that will really help you. - Do not forget that the Lord is with us in our pain. - If you are being pruned, maybe the Lord wants to cut your pride. Maybe in all your success, you forget God and become very proud. - Or maybe, the Lord wants to cut your selfishness. Masyado kang bilib sa sarili mo-it becomes all about you. - You should go through something so that attitude will cease to exist. - When we receive any pruning, it is not a punishment, but by way of admonition, the Lord wants to change something in you. God knows what He’s doing. - Maybe, for others, they need to prune their tongues. Bawas-bawasan ‘yong pagiging matapang, masungit, chismosa, mayabang, etc. - “You know, Lord, what needs to be changed in me.” - Be open to God’s pruning. Do not be afraid. Trust the Lord. - 3Ps when you go through any pruning na mahirap, masakit, or inconvenient: 1. Pray - Pagdadasal, hindi pagdadaldal ang kailangan. 2. Patience - This too will pass. 3. Persevere - Stay on course. Do not lose your way. - Persevere until the end. - An example of pruning is going to the barber shop/beauty parlor. When you sit, huwag kang mapraning, you believe that the barber knows what he’s doing. - Let the barber do his job, and you’ll be okay. Ganoon din kay Lord. - The Lord knows what He’s doing, and Ge has the perfect plan and timing. - Similarly, when you go to the dentist, you have to go through inconvenience and pain to have healing. - ‘Yong iba, tiis ganda. Ganoon din ang pruning, tinitiis natin para gumanda ang puso natin. - Mama Mary accepted all the pruning from the Lord. - Magnificat - My soul magnifies the Lord. - Lord, you are bigger than my problem. I trust in You. - When you go through any pruning, count your blessings, not what is missing. - Marami ka pang blessing, hindi lang ang pain ang tinitignan mo. - Focus on the humor, not on the tumor. - BTS - Believe, Trust, and Surrender - All will be well. - God is a God who knows everything. Trust Him. - To anyone going through any pruning, may the grace of God come down upon you. - Pray: “Lord, I am sick; please heal me. I am in pain; please comfort me. I am worried; please assure me. I am afraid, please Lord, stay with me. Lord, I offer you my sufferings. You are with me in my pain. Be with me in this time of cleansing, this time of tremendous grace and blessing. Lord, I need You. Lord, I hold on to You and I embrace You. Jesus, I trust in You. Mama Mary, I love you.” - Keep believing that you are loved. - Keep trusting that God will help you. - Keep surrendering everything and everyone to God’s perfect plan and timing. - Fr. Orbos
