The very moment that erased the Siidim's value and importance over all of the kiith-sa, as shown in the Homeworld 1 and Cataclysm manuals. Good thing that second flyer had a really skilled pilot.

Notice that as soon as the first missile hit he immediately dives down to close his distance with the burning lander, and jinks his left wing into the smoke, increasing the chances that the missile locks on to the heat signature burning lander instead of the intact one and veers off, he comes dangerously close to hitting the burning lander, but corrects and lands safely.

Very sensitive episode, I was searching especcially for that one. Thanks for uploading it! I really liked the game's narrative with its slow progression and tension.

I knew the moment the Sidiim captain said the word “gritiidim” that we would end up fighting them. The dogma behind that word (as explained in the HW1 manual) cannot be reasoned with.

@@maciejrozanski154 The first Homeworld game’s manual mentions a conflict between the Siidim and Gaalsien that happened long before Deserts of Kharak, called the Heresy Wars. As you see in DoK, the Gaalsien believed that all the people of Kharak once lived in the stars, and were cast down to the sand for their sins. The Siidim had a similar religion, but they believed only they were descended from the heavens, and everyone else were native to Kharak, and therefore inferior to them. “Gritiidim” is a slur they used against non-Siidim during that time.

If there are "baddies" in this conflict, i would say those are siidim despite being our allies for most of the time, they seem like biggest dickheads@@caliperstorm8343

The Sidiim rushed the construction of the Sakala so the Kapisi, Fiiskire, Akalon and Amida would become the Sakala Class of Expedition carriers. This possibly means the Sakala was doomed from the start and the Sidiim Betrayal only meant the Sakala had litterally signed It's own death warrent.

perhaps, but i think they rushed it so that their tribe would have better means to escape the desertification of the planet. the wrecks/artifacts were probably unknown to the sidiim at first. because if they had known it in the first place, they would already have set their own expeditions to specific places prior to the starting story. but i am only making assumptions based on what i saw from the game, are there any lore stories that might clue me in? where did you read about the sakala class of expedition carriers? i think i will learn more of their circumstances. thanks :D

@@clomsie 2 months late, at least not 3 months late hah So from what I've discovered (with better research) the Sidiim actually rushed the construction of the Sakala so the Kapisi, Fiiskire, Akalon, and Admida would be of the 'Sakala' Class Expedition Carriers, but from the time when she was built to the scenario In the game they would have probably mended the Issues In the Sakala by that point. So I stand corrected, you were right there. Anyways, I also researched Into the origin of the Sakala class carriers; The Sakala class carriers were built after the pervious operation to get to the primary anomaly, except Instead of the Sakala and Kapisi, a whole different class of carrier went, this carrier was the *Heavy* carrier Ifrit Nabaal, also known as the derilect carrier that's found In Hells Gate In the scenario. After the first operation failed (due to the destruction of the Ifrit Nabaal) the Coalition designed and built the Sakala class carriers. In the second operation to the Primary Anomaly, the Sakala and Kapisi could only go as the Fiiskire, Akalon, and Amida were either still In the shipyard or In active service In other regions. When Homeworld 2 was released we can assume the entirety of the Sakala class carriers were destroyed. What a damned bad way to go out...

@@COMMANDERJOCO thanks for coming back to update us. Being destroyed wouldnt just mean through combat or nature, they could have been decommissioned/scrapped seeing as now their purpose in the galaxy has been revealed and they are diverting all resources to creating their mothership that would take them back. just a hunch too XD

why don't these landers have like escorts because like they could get shot down by anything.

  • @karagrepublia

It’s probably because any kind of escort can’t follow it to the equator of Kharak, even with the Landers that are supposed to be Long-range transport are almost out of fuel when they reached the Kapisi so no doubt the fighters or any escorts would be out of commission before they’re near the equator.
