What I am going to write is going to shock you. I am from Bangalore and we live in Singapore. My daughter will go to 8th std next year. I am financially independent and want to move back to India. But due to my daughter advanced age, we don't want her to subject to Kannada and now they are talking about 2nd language Kannada. Hence we plan to move to Indore. :) We have no relatives or friends in Indore. I don't have any job also. But it is the nearest Hindi speaking city and is clean and safe. We plan to stay there for 5 years until daughter finishes 12th and they we will send daughter to college in India only. Any thoughts or advices?

Can you pls share your thoughts on getting back with older kids?

How do you mitigate the issue of compulsory kannada in Bangalore schools, until 8th std? We are from Bangalore and but mother tongue is not kannada and we live in Singapore. My daughter is in 6th std in CBSE school in Singapore. My daughter already has Hindi as 2nd language in Singapore and French as 3rd language. She doesn't know kannada. I came for vacation to Bangalore and inquired at Trio World school which is a good school in Nth Bangalore. The compulsory Kannada as 3rd language until 8th put me off. I feel sorry for Nth Indians who are forced to learn Kannada here. US was better right? Only one language.

We have 1:1 Kannada classes for kids for extra help. It is state education board rule so can’t do much. To my surprise kids picked up Kannada well in few months and we in general don’t complain much about the language and encourage them to learn a new Indian language.
