Homeskoolin’ Bonus Jam “Know It? Hell I Wrote It”
Ойын-сауық
Uncle Larry gets nasty in a pair of non prescription readers early on a wednesday morning.
ya know friends, you don’t have to re-tune your whole guitar to get some cool slide shit cookin...
all you gotta do is lower your high E string down to D
just tuning that high string down a whole step conjures enough of the ghosts that haunt the standard "open G" tuning that we have all grown up on to get the point across
you guys sick of this loop yet?

Pls for the love of god and country have Guitar House include Canada in shipping. Add cd’s too. Trying to give you and GFT all my money 😂

@@littleninpoYeo - I’ve ordered from them before and they ship no problem. Postage is a drag but it’s the only way to get the merch. Solution - buy lots of t shirts 😀

@@MrLapstealer I tried from Guthrie traps web page didn’t even give an option to ship outside US. I know what ya mean about tax when you buy from the states. I bought an all American pressure cooker, direct. Was expensive, but nothing in comparison to the input tax 🥹. Thanks for the help. Wanna buy the CD they have done as well . Same issue.

@@MrLapstealer scrap that last comment. I tried like you said guitar house via reverb ships uk. Thanks again sir.
I just want to say, I haven’t bailed on the idea of starting back up Furious Slides with Tom. It’s just that the quotes I’ve gotten from a few shops to make them have been ridiculously padded. I designed, created the manufacturing process, and made over 600 of them. So I know what it takes machining and time wise to make a slide. I’m not giving up hope, I’m just super swamped at my day job right now, making stuff that has to literally function in space, with zero failures. But I still know in my heart that they are the best slides on the planet. Just keep your fingers crossed that all the details can eventually be hammered out.

Heck yes. I’ll take two when they happen. Can we get some thin-walled slides that don’t weigh 50 pounds? As for space parts and tolerances, you sound like my poor put-upon little brother. lol He’s much happier now that he’s not designing space cabinet hinges. 😂

You know how I feel Charlie. They are miles ahead of any other slide. I’ll be patiently waiting. Thanks and have a great day!
My god these Homeskoolin videos make my day dude! I catch one every day while I smoke and warm up for practice. Your touch and control is unparalleled Larry! Keep blessing us with the mystical grooves.
That first jam had that Sacred Steel feel to like a steel guitar playing gospel music. Love it!
Thank you for your music Sir! I really, REALLY needed that this morning. My soul needed it. Tbank you
Long time home schooler tip: it’s a good thing to only listen to the videos without watching- an even more immersive experience of Tons playing
Raw and gritty. Just how I like my morning cup of joe. Strong enough to curl my little pinky toe.
Sick of this loop? Hell no…needs to be on the Trip the Witch record. Cheers Uncle!
So sweet….adding warmth to this chilly Cleveland morning….
Got a colonoscopy today (all clear). Your video about the Pantera Dr helped in the lead up. Thank you!
The looper jam should be titled "it's all gonna be alright" A really cool positive vibe. I love all of this content and watch every video thats posted. It's all great, but every now and then, out pops a truly otherworldly vibe that makes me smile with appreciation for the time and effort that this bloke has put into his craft. Cheers Tom, thank you for the inspiration.
Beautiful. A real treat. Thank you, Tom.
Thank you! That was just an absolute heap of raw soul, which I will watch and listen to over and over!
Damn that is some great plain’. That second song brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for all you do for us here at the Skool.
As always, thanks much for sharing your artistry Uncle Larry, beautiful man.
Thank you Larry! That one hit the spot!!!!
The perfect companion for my coffee on a chilly wednesday morning. Thanks Tom!
Slip sliding away through the moments that make up a dull day. Cheers Tom!
That sounds great with my morning coffee! ☕
Larry - I always love the passion and urgency of your playing, you attack EACH note as if it may be your last!

This is so insanely good. Wow
Good morning Tom ,Rock on , I love it when you're jamming out, then I do like it when you do a slow song you definitely know how to work your fingers years of experience😊
Sweetness at it's finest, UL jammin' from the heart..........Thank You sir
Thanks again for slide lesson/demo Uncle L. Already incorporating some of what you said into playing last night.
Thanks Unc, Many years of slide in G Major & I never thought of just the 1st string to D. Brilliant!
Thank you Tom, for reminding me every day, how great it's possible to be on this instrument. You're such an inspiration.
Never sick of any loop you provide.
Uncle Larry never disappoints! I love reading all the heart warming comments from my fellow homeskoolers. We have a good class. Keep bringing this wonderful content, we need and we want it!
Killer playing Uncle Larry 🔥 Appreciate all the slide tips on the last couple of vids 💪💪💪 You are beyond a “servicable”(i think that is how you described your playing 🤣) 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Highly inspirational. Thank you.
Tom , last night I watched Smoke. One of the movies you recommended the other week. So damn great ! Thanks for the recommendation I enjoyed it big time.
Now that was beautiful man!
Love coming home to a jam from this demon. 🔥🔥🔥
I like tuning the A up to B at the same time as the high string down to D -cheers for the videos sir!
Hey Tom, I haven't been playing much slide but these last 2 videos have inspired me to pick it up again. Thank you for always giving us a way to enjoy the guitar journey.

Beautiful as always sir. Big love from Dorset, England 🍻
I thought I d have a quick listen... and hère I am going through thé full vidéo for a second Time... thanks for this uncle Larry!!!!!
Simply amazing
Git it! A great class in major and minor scales right there. Those Allman licks are amazing.
No matter what style or tune Larry's playing, it's ALWAYS musical as "F". That bastard!
Damn! That sounded great! Thanks dude!!✌️
thank you!! beautiful. cleared my head, and put me in the present.
Genius!! So creative
Nice one Tom. Really cool hearing this loop get a little different treatment 3 days in a row. Your slide playing is great, that faux slide though! Ginsu precision. Well done!
Sadly I’m woefully slide challenged, so it’s with complete amazement and joy that I’m treated to your latest- on par with Landreth, Allman, Trucks. Bravo Tommy
Loving that mournful slide! Sweet! 🥰👍
Damn kid what's floating around in that head of yours the pours our such and eclectic array of sounds, voicings and tones Thanks!
Some 30 years ago or so, I saw Patty Lovelace opening for Colin Ray, and Patty had this killer electric player whom I'd never heard of. This fella, Tom Britt, was given the opportunity to do a long intro to one of her "hits", and that was the 1st time I'd seen a finger fretted behind the slide! I was blown away by that, along with some gal named Carmella Ramsey playing mandolin, guitar, and beeeutiful harmonies. Thank you Tom for refreshing my memory re Britt & Ramsey!

❤what a treat to have seen all three. Patty Loveless is one of the finest vocalist ever and then Tom Britt is a standard in great guitar ism and then of course I love Colin Raye, and I got to meet him a few years ago Portland of all places what a beautiful post.
Both of those little tunes you played are worthy of adding to any CD release in the future!
⚓️ Thanks Larry 🎶
What a ripper! Truly inspiring.
Great to wake up to. Thanks!
Saw you on Willie's 90th b-day show yesterday, It was cool like having a friend on the show!
Hey Tom awesome slide , taking a lunch break at work and chilling to you playing , it will definitely help me get through the afternoon at work , my wife and I are heading to Nashville in August as you say the hottest days of the year but hopefully we can you at the underdog or maybe 3rd and Linsey fingers crossed .
Thank you, sir. 🙏
Toms playing is mesmerising. Beautiful player.
Masterclass in right thumb muting. Feel like this was one take. Loved it.
That was beautiful! You are a lot better slide player than you give yourself credit for. I can hear TB’s influence.
You have the most inspiring and beautiful phrasing I have ever heard. Two of my favorite homeskookin videos because of your amazing playing are Corona Lessons Volume 21 "fake jazz" (which I learned note for note) and this one. Unbelievable.
Wow .. I'll have to give that a try! Thanks!
Thank you. Nope, not tired.
Giddy up it's 'Next Level Larry'
That tip of lowering one string will get thousands more players slidin. Those that don't have money or room to set aside different tuned guitars will love it . The tuning puts most one guitar players off. Too much hassle. Dreamy playing Tom . Shows you can get to wherever you want with a simple loop drifting you along. Wonderful. I could have listened for ever. Dont think I have seen that white SG before.
Sooo good, man
Uncle Larry cooking while I'm sleeping. Hardest working man in show biz.
Brilliant….musical sunshine.
I have watched damn near every video. If someone held a gun to my head and told me to pick a favorite, this is it. I love your playing Tom thank you so much for teaching me
Ahh Lovely ❤️ .. Me old Uncle Larry, I can Chill out Now..😉👊🎸🌞🇺🇸🙏. Great Stuff 👍🏻❤️
Cool tuning trick UL, I am assuming that all the N'ville guitarists learned it from a master slide player. I first heard it recently from Justin Ostrander on his channel. We always appreciate the finer points (and the basics) of slide playing! Here is what I like about your style - you can make it sound really "slidey", nasty, rough - or you can make it sound really pretty and gentle. That takes a one of a kind player.
Uncle Larry, I finally got my nobels hooked up on my board. Where has this thing been all my life lol. I’m about to order a second one. Keep on doing what you’re doing. Your videos are the best. It’s like hanging with an old friend. Later.
nice way to start the day
So, you say slide ain't really your thang? It sure sounds mighty fine to me. Always so melodic. Thank you for getting me excited about guitar again ....still!
Awesome 😊
startin' the day off right -- from lowdown to lovely 😉
Wicked! Tone for days!
The session man.. I'd rather call you Maestro. beauty of a 'steam' today! I've listened quite a few times. Cheers from Bugtustle and 10Q for sharing!
What I picture Duane Allman doing on a lazy spring morning while following some inspiration.
Another loop for the ages !! The best part about those loops (apart from the inspiration) is that I don’t have to play stairway to heaven anymore when I go to a guitar shop and they think I’m the shit.
Sounds belting.
Awesome 😍
Uncle Larry I wish I could play the guitar like that, just like everyone that watches Homeskoolin". But almost six years ago I accidently got put into playing bass. Before that I didn't touch a guitar for 20 years. But you have made me a better bass player because when you play i try put a bass line to what you are playing. Really helped me with my ear training if you will. And I will go back and listen again and try different lines. Someday I will make it down and catch you and Guthrie and everybody else at a show. Down meaning from PA. Yeah that's right. The state the makes your favorite beers.
This played three times in my hip pocket before I got a chance to sit and watch. So glad I’ve got a broom pushin job. 🙃
Still got it. The best.
Cool tip.. I'm back in the woodshed my dear Uncle!
In my opinion, I'm hearing some Luther Dickinson type sounds...not to mention Dickey Betts. Beautiful stuff!
Wow! This should be the first cut on your new Uncle Larry album - "In Mono". Baked Alaska stock just went up.
Marvelous midweek melodies! ... and all of those stanky stage faces. I thought those were all for show, somebody once told me no REAL guitar player would ever make those faces at home. ; ) Have a great week, Uncle Larry.

It’s all a show, Larry spent a few hours in hair and makeup this morning before rolling into the back room of Blackbird that’s been made up to look like a kitchen. An engineer, 6 assistants and a lighting and film crew all come together to make these infomercials about the Nashville Session Scene 😂
That was special.
not tired of anything you do peace out
That jam at the end was great for me to practice my pocket to. No guitar, just snapping my fingers.
Way cool Tom!
Wow...is all I can say ....I heard the roll an tumbling...an the lush slurs ...very Bonnie Rait esque....Tom if you haven't heard of Kirk Larange look him up what a slide an regular guitar player...thank you for that instrumental ride with the slide ...melody was awesome...I heard ohmage to a few things through your licks ...I think you should lay down some tracks like that ... instrumental track... your voicing was singer like ... Bravo Sir!!!🤘🙏
Slide tone on those P90s… killer. I’d sure like to get that out of mine. Slip, sliding away the day with Uncle Larry. Doesn’t get much better.
Uncle Larry, I hope your friend that makes the titanium slides brings them back soon!
I admire the Gibson SG. I own 2. I love that guitar. Have a GREAT DAY!
Thats the reason Uncle Larry’s a 😊BOSS!!!
For someone who claims to not be a slide player that sure was sweet!
Not sick of that at all. Sounds great to my ears
Guitar geek here, I'm loving all the old Gibsons particularly the ones with p-90s. There's just something about mahogany and p-90s. Give me an old Junior...
