I like the shelf idea posted below that you could put plants or other decor on. If you lower the white board a bit you could do the shelf and also hang a piece of twine with some clothespins to display some of their work. I remember one of my school teachers hanging up our papers that we did really well on. Even if it was a written paper! I love what you've done with the space. Its lovely but functional. I've seen some gorgeous homeschool rooms but I cant imagine kids in those spaces. This is a real hardworking welcoming space you've created! Thank you for sharing.

Nice balance of neutral/minimal decor but you also have the two display shelves. I find that my daughter stays interested in things if I change out the display frequently. You are blessed to have that large space. Very nice!

I’m 17 but I am online schooled in senior year. My mom saver a lot of memories like hand print painting or some some of my good graded papers and some of my writing definitely save writing

My thought about the wall was a long shelf over the whiteboard with a few indoor plants. On the sides of the white board you could let vines hang down a little bit. Or maybe even a few succulents. But, indoor plants would be cute and also therapeutic. 😊 love love love the new room! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful very organized great peaceful color pallet 🖤😊 idea💡maybe a verse something simple on that one side of the wall XX

Adding greenery to that wall like a hanging plant or a small floating shelf to put the whiteboard on with a plant...or large black n white picture print of some kind like waterfalls or mountains ....I try to bring as much greenery and nature in so that it doesn't feel like we are just stuck behind four walls :) but to each their own, I am not sure whatelse ya could do that is minimal. ..maybe just add a cute frame to the whiteboard?? Good luck :D Room looks great!!!

We like colored pencils better too. I just turned one of the rooms upstairs that has a built in bookcase into our school room. We just had that room a storage room and I totally decluttered it and turned it into the school room. We needed a space away from everyday living so the littles could be downstairs with my teen girls while I work with my 4 boys. Then the girls do their work after the boys are done and littles are napping.

Yes, that’s seriously the best pencil sharpener!

I LOVE that Wisdom sign. I have that Aristotle quote on my wall too, but it is just typed out and framed. I need that sign instead! I love me some Aristotle. 😘 Such a cute room!

I’ve recently started following you, and I adore you! I am transitioning to homeschooling all 4 of my kids full time. I’ve homeschooled one or more of my children full or part time for the last 4 years, so I’m excited to finally be a full timer. The desks you have here for the kids, I was just looking at for my kids. I’m curious how sturdy they are. Are they sturdy enough to be moved around daily? My kids are very fidgety and annoy each other often 😂 and I’d love for them to be able to move their desks around the room if they want to. I’d love to hear how you think they would hold up! Thank you for all that you share. You’re very inspiring ❤️

Thanks for sharing! It looks great, and gave me some inspiration for our school room. Had an idea for your bare space (not sure if someone already recommended this 😉) what about a high shelf that expands the length of the wall. About 12” from the ceiling for all the books, or extra things that you wouldn’t need that often. Books just look so cute everywhere and they’re purposeful for the minimalist homeschool room! I think monsoon schoolhouse did one of these so I can’t take credit, but I do think it’d be great to help balance your space.

I love how bright and airy the room looks and having the laundry room right beside it is brilliant! I had a laugh though with the quote you shared about work within the 4 walls. With all the hub-bub about TGTB and it's use and source of quotes that quote is by Harold B. Lee who was a president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Just think how many people love that quote and have it in their home and don't give a darn about who said it because it speaks to their heart 😉

I love this. How do you like doing school upstairs vs downstairs? Our setup is downstairs and I love the idea of the school room being upstairs away from the common areas for when company comes etc. But I love having it downstairs because it is close to everything. Just wondering your thoughts.

A very good organizational tip is to put the books in rainbow order!

It all looks great! On the whiteboard wall...Maybe four canvases with clips to rotate a piece of each child’s classwork that they are proud of.

Love this space. Do you have a homeschool motto or a bible verse that you love? If so, that would be nice to add to your wall over the white board. I’m thinking a rustic farmhouse style barn wood type frame with a white background and either black writing or a color you love for the wording.

I was wondering about the same thing. Last year was our first year and I used a table but I’ve been debating individual desks instead this year. My 3 are all little - 6 and under - so I’m on the fence about which would work best for us.

I love little desks for my younger kiddos that are 6/9/11 but I still have to work with them at the table. My older teens 12/13/16 do school all over the house ;). At the big table, on the couch, in a reading chair etc. I think options are great for kids to go and especially with me having 6 kiddos to homeschool but my teens are more independent. I love a big table for when they have projects or littles want to do art or play doh.📚😁

Where did you get those tubs on your kids desks? I can’t find them anywhere.

For the wall with the white board, you could hang the IKEA curtain wire and use it to hang the artwork that your children do throughout the school year. We have it in our school room and we enjoy changing things out as they create new pieces. www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60075295/
