    It really is a credit to a system that emphasizes language learning. We thought that we were good teaching our kids three languages, but most people we meet in Morocco have at least three. Impressive.

    This is one of my favorite videos thus far. Thanks for representing Boston and the US outside of what everyone sees in the mainstream media. Also, it is refreshing to see "education" take place in the context of life. We need more WorldTowning families in the world. :). Cheers!

    Carol Gasses you are too kind. Thanks! We will be doing vlogs like this from time to time in order to share the realities of WorldTowning. It’s not all “adventure days,” but it still rocks! Life is so much more than what mass media shows us. Our goal is to share as much as possible of what we encounter our here in the world. The world is good!

    Hi there my partner John and I are in the beginning of our journey of home ed (we live in the UK) So far it's all about play and interacting with other home ed families as our children are 4 and 9 months! Thanks hugely to stumbling across you guys whilst researching world schooling, we have been inspired to start planning our first WorldTowning (love this term by the way!) experience in about 2 and a half years to Brazil for 3 months. It was so good to hear you say that you don't have to be rich to do this as we aren't high earners with me working part time and John being self employed but we believe so strongly in being close to our children and having a global experience together. So a great part of our research is watching your vlogs, thank you for making it accessible and most of all for keeping the flame of inspiration alive. Really love your genuine nature and kindness that shines through. The children are such treasures..ok I'd better stop my novel here. Would love to keep in touch..Thank you!

    Hi Karen! Welcome and thanks for all your kind compliments. Seems like you are off to a great start! Keep it up. Yes, you don't need to be rich, but you need to work hard, live simple and be willing to compromise standards at time. It is that easy. So glad our vlogs have been helpful. We are also on IG (stories) and FB. IG stories will give you an even more intimate glimpse into our life. Yes, keep in touch. You can do this.

    Ok, I really suggest you visit Hollands Wood camp ground in the New Forrest , UK. You literally camp in a wood next to open grass areas and the wild ponies and cows will come up to your camp. If you want a natural experience that's a good place to go, apart from that it's 1 hour from my house and I can bring you all the cheese you can eat!!! Great video, awesome edit! Morocco looks great.

    OK I have never been in Essaouira but I wish you the best from all my heart and one other thing haha , in Morocco you have to barging and be good in that especially in the souks . always try to give them 40% or 50% maximum of the price they ask for at the beginning don't just accept the price barging is normal in souks

  • @WorldTowning

    We do bargain, and have been able to avoid being overcharged. There are times although that we do feel bad about walking away on the deal. If there was only a hidden price list that we can get a hold of. That would make things so much easier.

A cooking one an a decorative one to display food cooked elsewhere in. Now, what are we thinking? It is on the kitchen floor now and we have to walk around it. Ha. Thank you. I think traveling with your grandchildren is an amazing idea. My parents take our kids on a big trip at age 10. They get to pick where they want to go. Avalon went to Japan and Largo is going to Antarctica in the fall. What a great memory you will create with them. We were an Accountant and a Graphic Designer working remotely for the first 2.5 years of travel. One year ago we created WorldTowning. We do private coaching (as well as teach a class) about how to handle all the logistics surrounding moving to another country. So we cover choosing a location, visas, housing, schooling, finance, tech, emotions, etc. We are basically relocation specialist for those wanting to do a gap year with their family, are retiring and want to travel longer than a vacation, own their own business or are location independent so they are taking a year in another country, want to live in another country long term, etc. It is a passion based business that we love and have a lot of experience in. Our goal is to get more families making home towns across the globe hence, WorldTowning. Many people think it is not possible. We are here to show them how and that it can be done. Yes, you can do it. Figure out the income part and the rest will fall into place.

    Hi Will and Jessica et al. Lol. Its Brenda from 🇨🇦. I had to change my i.d. because my i.d. got hacked after i accidentally left (or it was taken?) an airline reservation doc in a local hotel in Cuba filled with KGB type patrons. My Apple i.d. Was hacked from Moscow a few days later. Apple engineers still working on it. In the meantime I had a young friend rework my i.d. and add this cute kitty photo. Thanks for the info about the sim cards. I still do $$$$ roam like home which in Canada-requires selling your first born son...watch out Largo!!! Once I settle in a place for a longer time I will be doing a sim. I dont think it was possible in some of the countries Ive been to to get a sim for my iphone bc the frequencies were different. Maybe thats a moot point these days? Btw i saw a cool vid on how to make your second iphone into a security device for your rv. I will be doing this when I hit the road with Bertie in the summer. Do a Yt search: RV with Tito Use old smart phone as an RV security camera.

    Hi Brenda - So sorry to hear about the misfortune. But the real question is "How was Cuba?" I can only imagine the experience there. As far as SIM cards, the prices in Morocco are not bad at USD 11 per 10 GB. We do go though a ton of data in our world. The kids school and daily work and uploading videos take a ton of data. We usually go through about 200GB a month, and that is being stingy with the leisure time usage. I definitely need to look into the security camera thing. All the best.

    Did have a great time in Cuba although food and internet restrictions were somewhat frustrating. I stayed at casa particulars to learn more about Cuba and current transitions. Varadero beach was awesome. Adored Havana! Just sold some of my extra cuc’s to a world traveller. Great conversation. OMG 200 gb of data! This would be the stuff of dreams for Canadians. Im lucky to get 2 for over $50 a month. Wherever I go in the world ppl cant believe the prices we pay. Its outrageous. Let me know if the iphone security approach might work for you. I liked the simplicity of the idea. I am hoping to “upgrade” my iphone 6 to iphone 7 plus 128 because I am toying with the idea of yt - not sold yet. In Canada this phone will cost me $1500 with taxes and applecare. 😱 i have an old 4s as well. I usually donate my old phones to womens shelters. My trailer is fibreglass so no holes will be drilled to run any wires. If it turns out I need it I will buy a 400w lithium solar generator to run my small fridge and lights. I dont need much electricity other than the fridge and have simple solutions to be off grid boondocking. Already outfitted with solar items for recharging phones/ipad etc and an inverter for the car.

    Do Largo and Avalon miss regular contact with kids their same age?

  • @WorldTowning

    @WorldTowning

    On occasion they do, but we meet up with other families along our travels and keep in touch with friends as we go. What this life does do is that it challenges them to be social with people outside of their peer group and this is the most amazing part. Avalon and Largo are able to hold down conversations with people in all age groups without fear or hesitation. When that happens, that is when our eyes light up and we know that we are doing the right thing. This travel life can be crazy, but the benefits and experiences gained are unbelievable.

    Great question. The number one question we get asked is if we worry about their socialization. Absolutely. It was one of the main reasons we chose to start traveling. We felt that their social in a traditional setting was limiting them to children very similar to them in age, gender, income, etc. We wanted them to socialize beyond like-minded and similar living kids. As Will stated they do miss some aspects of the way we used to socialize (we all do), but they much prefer this way. Their favorite age group to socialize with are 20 something travelers. They are great with teens/tweens and inspire the kids so much. In life we have to socialize outside of our peer group so we do our best to nurture that from a young age. Will and I are going to do a whole vlog on the social and friend aspect of our life since it is one of the reasons many families choose not to travel. It was also one of the reasons we stayed for a year at a time in our first three WorldTowns. We wanted to form community with locals and that is more challenging the faster you move. Now as we WorldTown faster we are lucky to know a lot of other travelers, have friends all over Europe in stationary lives and we make new friends along the way. I must say though, as a family we are very social and committed to the social aspect of this travel life. Besides spending more time as a family, the social aspect has been the greatest benefit to deciding to live this way. We will do a vlog to go into greater detail on this topic. Thanks for asking. I am sure many others have the same question.
