Homer Halibut Trip Monster Halibut

Day two started off with our multi species fishing trip with Big Dans Fishing charter. This triple included catching halibut, lingcod, yelloweye and black bass. It was a 12 hour trip and everyone caught there limits. My buddy Bill landed the biggest fish of the trip with a 150LBS halibut that they had to shoot to bring it on board. Over all the we had ton of fun on this fishing trip trip and walked away with over 300 pounds of fish.

You guys should get a Bangstick, it's what you use for Alligator fishing to kill them. Nice Halibut!!

The largest I've personally caught was 76lbs. Was cool to see my buddy catch it. It was his first halibut trip in Alaska, that made it worth while!

@@timbersalaskanadventure5582 That's cool that was a buddy who hooked onto that brute! Your 76# still beat me by about 10#'s! Looks like excellent fishing up there....someday I'll begin work on the ol bucket list!! That was a great catch!

Your boy Swifty here. Good editing and you have a good voice for the clips man. Just wondering why the guy said not to take the hallibut or however you spell it's head out of the water before discharging those rounds?

Hey buddy! I appreciate the kind words! Thanks. To answer your question, I'm not 100% sure. My guess would be because once the fishes head is out of the water he will start thrashing, making it harder to shoot. I could be wrong on that but that's my best guess. I'll ask around and see what they say, unless someone here answers it first!

Do they make you fight the fish in the rod holder?

They made us fight the fish. We had the option of using the rod holder if we needed it though.
