Homeowner was SHOCKED I Didn't Take His Money For Cutting His Overgrown Lawn

Ойын-сауық

I got an email from a customer that needed his overgrown backyard knocked down and his front yard cleaned up. When I got there I quickly realized there was only one way to get the backyard done and that was to pull out the trimmer and trim the entire backyard. There was very little access and with all the debris on the ground, it couldn't be mowed anyway without tearing up a mower. After a couple of hours we got it cleaned up and he was shocked I didn't accept any payment.

When my friend lost her husband she stopped living herself. No housework, yard work Nothing. It took her a year to even shower and cook for herself. They were together for 50 years. Don’t judge people. Mental health is a serious issue. We don’t know what this family is facing Thank you so much for helping ☺️✌️❤️

Exactly , I was taught never look down on someone unless you are helping them up. And everyone grieves differently , in our own time frame and ways . Some have a hard time going through their loss . Kindness goes a long way . It’s been a very rough year for many stuck inside etc. sending prayers for your friend . I lost my husband of 43 years last year so I do understand some of what she’s going through . ( and not to cv but a short but very aggressive lung cancer )

@@pamkammann1176, many if us are walking this lonely road we never thought we would be on and unless someone is on it themselves, they have no clue as to how painful just living day to day can be. Losing your parents, a child or a sibling, while painful, is nowhere near as painful as losing the one you thought you'd share the rest of your life with. It has been 22+ plus years since I lost the most precious human being I've ever known and every day is a struggle just to keep going. Cancer took my precious gift from God as well. Take care and stay safe.

Nobody need be a pro to make the difference either, just a willingness to take control and do the work. Me and a couple of others have been doing the job of the local council for four years, they don't even bother to cut the grass anymore and say it is budget cuts... More like the lads or the management aren't willing to do it the hard way like we are doing, when they say budget cuts it means the lads want twice the wage they deserve and they don't have enough fuel for the motorised tools and aren't willing to do manual labour. I injured my back about six years ago and got fed up with been unable to earn a proper wage and was propped up by welfare benefits - I have pain almost all of the time at least one-day-a-week I manage to go pick up the litter, cut grass and uproot thousands of nettles and do requests (ha) if people tell me where the worst bits are they need fixing up, this is to maintain the place I live in and to earn the welfare others are paying for by going to work. If I did one day of work on the wage the council lads are on it would pay me for a week, I think this computer is the most lavish thing I own.

Who knows why what looks like it was at one time an "aspirational landscape and garden in progress" along with what appear to be several "deferred" projects gets away from a customer? Can be any number of things and it is really wonderful to go in and help take that heavy weight off their minds. Having had things go a different direction than was planned (even if it was something leftover from a previous owner) can be a real burden on the mind so it is a very good thing you are doing here. Sometimes such a kindness is just the thing that gets someone past that "high-centered" feeling that they're never going to get things straightened out... Don't know if that's what was going on here but whatever it was, you made a difference that likely will "resonate" across the neighborhood.

Maybe we could’ve even fixed the fence! PS- who doesn’t have a gate to their enclosed yard? Was it because of the A/C unit and window well covers? The A/C installation contractors were negligent placing it on the side (impeding egress) instead of the back.

I have seen several friends and neighbors who got behind on things and it just got to be impossible for them. That's because politicians claim to care about people, yet they are some of the most calloused, uncaring and clueless people God ever gave breath to. Especially those who tend to be on the LEFT, politically! They don't really care about people... they only care that we OBEY their every command, and squeezing as much money as possible out of the VERY TAXPAYERS who pay their salaries... namely you and I. Hypocrites!

I am praying the homeowner will now have the incentive/ability to do some of the needed repairs or find other skilled workers to help him out. May God bless you Brian and heal your many cuts and scrapes. I know you love your shorts but that yard called for combat gear.

And that's exactly what I thought. I tried to clean my curb with the trimmer and had shorts on, but I had to stop and put some knee-high socks and some jeans on because it felt like I was propelling "shrapnel " into my skin. S/n..the socks were to protect any skin from being exposed to spiders and such. I know from experience what a brown recluses spider bite feels like and the damage it can wreck on a body. I must add that I wish that there were more people who give of their hearts to anyone needing some help/ assistance. May God bless you, young Man. Awesomeness personified!🤗

So, when you get a chance to share, like I do regularly, those smiles from people are what makes my day 👍 You don't have any idea what folks are going through. The guy gathering shopping carts/ buggys at Kroger a couple days ago got a cash tip from me, and I told him how much I appreciated his work. Now that was a million dollar smile 😊

Hi from Australia! Wow buddy your did a magnificent job on a really large and tough job! Well done to you. I'm sure your work was appreciated, and I really admire your kindness! I had polio as a baby, needing to wear a back brace and full leg braces all my life. I used to do all my own gardening and lawn mowing. After I married, my hubby did it, and the kids helped out too. After he died I went back to doing it myself, when my children lived overseas. I'm in my 70's now and live in an aged care village and have regular help from my beautiful family and a wonderful regular gardening fellow. I've been very blessed in so many ways, and as I get older, am even more appreciative of my lovely helpers! Bless you for being so non judgemental and kind, and giving service to the community in between your paid work! I enjoyed watching you make such a fantastic difference to the homes you attend. Many Blessings to you.

Amazing. Lots of rain? I am in California, haven’t seen any measurable rain in months and months. One more, it might help to have a 24-30” push mower for those small jobs. Although that backyard would have even been are to do with a push mower.
