In this short video I describe an overview of #hemostasis or haemostasis going through its four stages:
#vasoconstriction
primary hemostasis or the formation of a #platelet plug
secondary hemostasis which includes the #coagulation cascade leading to conversion of #fibrinogen into #fibrin by the action of #thrombin
plug contraction and consolidation
Hemostasis or #haemostasis is a process to prevent and stop bleeding, meaning to keep blood within a damaged #blood #vessel (the opposite of hemostasis is #hemorrhage). It is the first stage of #wound healing. This involves #coagulation, blood changing from a liquid to a gel.
