I have been a homemaker for 66 years!! Have 3 boys, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. I always prayed I would live to see my children grown and now I am even enjoying my great grandchildren. My prayer was indeed answered. Praise the Lord.

I agree with you! I always wanted to be a wife and mom. I had no desire to have a career or work outside the home. God is good! I’ve been married for 53. years, I have 4 kids, and 10 grandchildren! I’ve been a homemaker most of that time except when my husband went back to nursing school. I’ve loved every minute of it!

I have been a homemaker for 38 years. It is a wish (fulfilled) that I have cherished since I was 10 years old. I loved being home to watch each of my children grow and develop. I loved the dinner hour with everyone around the table. We have know entered into the season of grandchildren. Oh my, I am so much more relaxed with my grandchild's development and expressions of personality and temperament than I was as a young mom. And Megan is correct, be courageous enough to develop your own decorating style. Your house is about you not HGTV or IG. And thrifting is great! One woman's trash is another woman's treasure. 😉Besides, the really old decor has lasted because it is very well made! 🎉 Thank you, Megan for another great episode. 💖

Careful of gangstalkers, freemasons (secret society members), & doctors/medical/scientific/educational people. Being a twin has been a big time curse in my case. They ran our dad off, made him schizophrenic, then killed him. Then they ran our mom off too. She became a bipolar religious fanatic who disowned her children. They gave me a spinal tap against my mom's wishes when i was born but not my twin sister. I've been tormented with back problems, chronic pain & illnesses, depression, anxiety, suicidal tendencies because of it all. I'm doing better with my health finally but it took 4 decades & major lifestyle changes. Please keep them babies safe & protect them from all the evil in this world. Best wishes from me!

I have been a homemaker for 55 years and at 75 find myself with new challenges that others might relate to. I have to plan carefully to conserve my energy. Must break down projects. I have simplified my possessions for this reason. Laundry has to be done in smaller loads I can carry. Cooking for one also takes planning. Inviting people in to avoid isolation is wise but again the energy issue. Loving my small place and accepting it’s quirks, as you said, is important. And being very grateful for the time I can now spend with the Lord. Blessings

Been a homemaker for about a year now. I'm very much still learning😅 which is fine. My husband trusts me alot which I'm thankful for. He gave me full control of meals but isn't afraid to make a dinner if I have to work late although he said he needs a ten page recipe just to make sure he gets it right😂 I've been so thankful being a part of a Christian household where I feel valued as a homemaker and my husband is always so supportive even if I mess things up. We are growing together and trusting that God knows where we will be years from now. Thank you for your advice it was very helpful to know more options to try and see if it fits me.

Congratulations on your anniversary! May you enjoy many more years of happiness. You have helped me SO much! You see, I'm not a homemaker per se, but I am in charge of my office in every way: prepare meetings, take care of the team, scheduling, housekeeping when to buy what, who's coming when, who has an issue that they want to discuss, everything comes down to me having to figure it out. Your advice has made all the difference for me to be able to create a working space that looks beautiful and feels welcoming and nice. People enjoy visiting, they comment on how well they're treated and the nice treats they get when they're here (lovely spaces, good food, good treatment), and a lot of that has come from the inspiration I get from you. So really, thank you for helping me make a stressful work space feel like home!

47 years a homemaker. Nobody worries about 'whats for dinner' as much as you do. Its not so much what is on the table as it is who is at the table. Eating meals together as a family is important as it is a time to connect and talk about each family members day. You are more abt to forget what you ate than the conversations you had!

This video is GREAT!!💜 So many good tips that I wholeheartedly agree with and do my best to incorporate in my own home! I've been a mother for 12 years, a wife AND mother for 6 years, and a homemaker for 5 years. I know the timeline is kiiinda crazy... it's a long story. I grew up in a large family with my mom being a homemaker, so I feel like, even though I've only had my own home for 5 years, between growing up with a homemaker and then being a mother for 12 years, I've got at least 10 years of homemaking in my life.😂 I love the challenges and the blessings of the homemaking life.💜 Happy Anniversary to you and Josh!!🥰💐

I LOVE decluttering, even after 44 years of homemaking. You are right, it IS such a high to bag up unused and unloved clothing, decor, dishes, and all things unneeded. It's as good as feeling to declutter as when you spring clean (does anyone do that anymore? LOL ). Thank you for all the videos you share of your life, Megan! You are such a breath of fresh air and watching them takes me back to the days in my marriage/life/home when I was your age and doing all these things you are now doing. Know you are appreciated and loved! ♥

I have worked from home when my kids were little the first 10 and outside the home during the last 10 years. My kids are 18 and 19. I'm just now starting to realize why our house so easily gets out of hand. Too much stuff! I've been throwing away and giving things away this summer in an effort to declutter, especially as my kids are heading into adulthood. My goal this year is "A place for everything and everything in its place". Easier said than done but I'm working on it! We keep a lot of stuff...good to let go sometimes.

Happy Anniversary! I enjoyed listening to this as I was doing some cleaning up. I've been married and a homemaker for 18 years, no children but have been full time at home for 7 or 8 years. I love it! I'm with you on the grocery shopping thing......I like to do my own, and snag those "secret" deals and marked down items. They make suggestions for stuff you don't need on the apps too....buying stuff you don't need is just a discipline. People purchase many "extras" in their online shopping too. But I do understand that some people just like to have someone else do their shopping....I just don't think that particular reason is super valid. 🤷🏻‍♀😊

Hi Megan, Happy 10th anniversary! I love watching your videos! Your family is beautiful!! When you mentioned about talking to your mother and mother-in-law for suggestiions of family recipes, etc... It reminded me of myself doing the same thing. I remember having my extended family over for a meal and my late grandmother calling her sister (right from the dining room)telling her my matzo balls were not too good. After that, I was determined to find a good recipe that was better and have used it ever since and shared it with our children. Most of my grandmother's recipes were never written down. She just eyeballed ingredients without measuriing. I do have some of her recipes that my Mom measured everything my Grandmother was doing prior to cooking or baking, but my Grandmother Reba was not too patient. My husband and I are going to be married for 😊50 years in a few months. We have experienced many ups and downs through the years, but our love and faith have helped us get through the rough spots. Wishing you and your family only the best!! ❤

I’ve been a homemaker for 7 years and a mama for 6 years. So much grace needed in these seasons😃. I’ve also come to learn that my worth in Christ does not depend on the state of my home or the quality of my meals. Creating a God centred home and opportunity for family time around the table or doing projects together is WAY more rewarding. ❤ Blessings from Saskatchewan Canada.

Happy Anniversary to you and Josh!!! My hubby and I celebrated our 33rd anniversary in May. We have a 31 year old son with Autism, who still lives with us (and no plans to change that). Our first apartment was nice, but we bought all used furniture since we were a military couple on a budget. The kitchen table was $10 at a garage sale- the 4 chairs actually 'reclined' 🤣. After 8 years we bought our one and only home that we still live in after almost 25 years. It had new carpet and linoleum that I swear was 5 cents/square yard- so cheap!! After 15 years we now have our forever home & being in FL we are getting our dream pool next. ☺️

Almost 44 years as a wife/homemaker. We have 2 sons and 6 grandchildren. I have learned over the years that I couldn't cook from the beginning and I still can't cook. It's not my thing!! I try and I do it but I don't enjoy it. I worked full time outside the home for 36 years so it was tough coming home cooking, laundry, cooking, spending quality time with my kids. But outside of working, I devoted all my time to my sons which left very little time for myself. They are grown now and I am retired so trying to adjust to more free time. All your tips are great. I sure could have used a lot of video/social media type help back in the day. Thank you for your ideas and Happy Anniversary!! Blessings on your special day and may God shower you with many more years together!!

I've been a homemaker for 54 years. Two kids, a boy and a girl, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and another great on the way at the end of July. Our home does not have the show room look and never wanted it that way/ It looks like someone lives in this house. I am in the process of decluttering due to my husband's health. Have made three trips to Goodwill and working on making a couple more in the next week or so.

Good for you for decluttering! I need to do more of that myself. It might be easier to put things out by the street with a free sign. Then your neighbors would get free stuff instead of having to pay for it! Goodwill is now a for-profit business, not a charity.

I'm not a homemaker, but I am convinced that having children involved in the household tasks from an early age is key to my sanity and to their learning as well! My daughter is only 23 months, but she loves baking/cooking with me and can also "help" clean bathrooms, unload the dishwasher, etc. I also prioritize my own rest during her naptimes, so having her work with me is essential at this stage!

Wow, I just de-clutteted my dry sink and turned it into a coffee bar and put out my special coffee cups. I decorate the way you do, cozy, my dining room is a closet, my bedroom was the small connecting livingroom, we also have a large one.

I’ve been a homemaker since 2021 since my first daughter was born. I have a 2 year old girl and a 1 year old girl and a little boy on the way who will be here in November 😅❤ I love what I do. I have been struggling today. Little baby boy kicks all through the night and keeps me awake so I enjoy the encouragement you offer! I do feel like you’re a big sister to me ❤

Love being a homemaker but I'm an empty nester now. Our daughter graduated college and got married in May. But I'm happy to pass on all my knowledge to my daughter! I know she's going to be an incredible homemaker and teacher! She is super excited about new recipes....making things from scratch and all the organization things and she's already had her own cleaning and babysitting business. So she's already skilled and ready to go. 😊❤️

Hey Megan. Yesterday was our 43rd anniversary. We have 2 sweet grandsons. I'm a fly by the seat of my pants kind of gal. It's funny how hearing that someone coming for a visit makes you put that work hat on and you tidy and clean so fast. I do have a hard time letting go of things. Excuse me while I go declutter. You are a smart cookie!!

I've been a homemaker for almost 30 years. I was married for 2 years before our son was born and then was blessed with three daughters after him. I've always worked outside the home and at times felt overwhelmed by all the things I had to do with being a wife,a Mom, having an outside job, and being a homemaker. When I poured out my heart to God,He gave me a desire to be a homemaker and love the roles that I needed to fulfill and I'm thankful for that. Your advice is indeed encouraging, since I still have two daughters in high school. I've learned to enjoy my home and the care I give my family...When I see your videos sometimes I long for those days when my children were as young as yours. Those days were challenging, but sweet at the same time. I still get stuck in the mindset that my home must be perfectly clean and organized, but I'm learning that the memories we create with our family is more important. Thanks for sharing what you've learned and how you approach the many roles youlive out daily...❤😊

Great video - very helpful! Not sure if someone already said this but I will say some grocery stores such as Publix do have a section where you can shop in the app for the items on sale and still do pick up. That way you can blend the convenience of staying in your vehicle and still use the method your mother taught you buy meal planning based on what’s on sale for a good price.

Have been a homemaker for 25 years; during this time, it had to diversify a lot because it had to incorporate many new diets, green cleaning, kids (3; all girls, twins and an older one) growing up, and moving out just being open to changes is so important because life does that, everything needs to be different every so often. Being creative makes home special, especially as things change up

We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary in April 🎉 I absolutely agree with your tip about getting housework done with the kids around. As a homeschooling mama of 5 kids under 8 years old, cooking and cleaning with the kids underfoot is essential. If I tried to squeeze all of that work into naptime/quiet time, I would be a wreck by the end of the day! Mamas deserve a break to rest and reset during the day too 😊

50 years. I knew NOTHING when I started but I quickly learned. With 4 kids and 7 grandchildren I only want dishes that go in the dishwasher, couches with covers that can be washed and board games. Lots of games. Makes life so fun!

I just love your videos, Megan! Thank you for sharing your home, modest wardrobe, and love of Christ with us mamas! You are so much more productive and energetic than I am 😛 that I have to ask - what time do you go to bed at night? Wake in the AM? (I'm thinking I need to get a stricter with my own bedtime.)
