There’s a lot of people that use them very reliably. A go kart league sounds like a riot!

Wait till everyone sees that splitter in action!
Similar design to my splitter, although I used an I beam for the upright. It has a Honda powered portapack that was designed to run a hydraulic jack hammer and that powers it no problem. I built a log lift onto the side of the table, it works via a cable and raises on the down stroke and has a locking latch that stops it yo- yo-ing in use. You can lock the lift in place and use it as a table extension. The only design fault was the table height, I didnt realise it was a problem untill i split through a knotty piece of oak and the shock wave off the table got me right on the end of my wedding tackle !

That is also a problem for me when I use this machine, however Cam is much shorter than me and proves not to be an issue for him...guess that's one benefit of being short.
nice
I built a 4-way adapter that would slip over my box store single wedge and used the wedge and cylinder to form the piece of steel into shape…..and I crushed the fleshy edge of my hand. Wedge works…yup.

What is the height from the ground to the top of the table ?

If I remember correctly it’s like 27”
So how much was it compared to an Axis?

I'm not sure of the price point of an Axis, but I think Cam paid about $8,000 for this unit.

No Ear Pro, what a great idea! I'm interested to see how long this Harbor Freight motor lasts, when she goes I will definitely be looking into it. Thanks Jim.
