Great video and ingenuity - what was the OAL of your homemade extension?

As always - amazing job! Nice to see handy and smart person at work. Thank you sharing, I have almost bought standard extender but now I see why it would not work. Question you may know answer to: brand new Suzuki 9.9 like yours (but no starter) has vibration on tiller with noise, mostly on middle RPM level. Sound like metal+plastic so bad I have to press with arm to eliminate it, otherwise unpleasant to drive. Under tiller screw does not do anything to help, just work to make speed turning harder or easier. I heard earlier models use to have some dumpers to reduce shake. Any suggestion what I can try and check? Dealer could not help - suggested this is motor "break in" period process side effect.

Thank you niko. Where is the vibration and noise coming from just the tiller handle or the whole motor. I noticed it the trottle tensioner knob is loose all the way it makes a rattling sound got to be somewhat tight is every bolt tight?

LaingEj Seem be not the motor- it has some normal expected vibration ( horizontal vibration without noise) but tiller shakes different ( in vertical movements with rattling noise ) . Nothing visually seem to be loose, plastic screw under tiller you mentioned I like to keep tight but regardless it was not affecting the sound. I do not want to bring new motor for service already and afraid to open up tiller or motor unless I get some advice what could be the part I need to look specially. If you or someone watching your channel will have suggestions- please share, otherwise I will continue and hope it will stop. Btw, I have mp3 and video clip with sound but not sure if I can share it somewhere here.

Upload the video here in youtube then share me the link in this conversation. Will help to see what is doing. Mine doesnt make any noise. My tiller is fine Has nothing to do with break in period. Something wrong with yours i will take a look at mine later

Great job on the tiller extension! I love the attention to detail. I want to make one like this for my small outboard. Is the pvc pipe you used to slide over the outboard's handle 2" inside diameter or outside diameter?

Its 2” Inside diameter and i glued pieces or rubber/silicone hose inside the pvc pipe so it grips the suzuki handle wont scratch it.

This looks great but you also could have boat a bicycle grip instead

Bicycle grip diameter is too small. Its 1-1/4 Inside diameter. Some motorcycle grips will fit but are expensive wanted something smooth

Have the exact same engine. My tiller handle is loose and now that I extend the handle it's really noticable, there doesn't seem to be anyway to tighten it either, was like this when I got it and the engine only has 10 hrs on it pretty ridiculous. How's yours holding up?? I'm kinda regretting buying this thing, it stinks worse than my two stroke and is pretty cheaply made specially when looking at this chincy handle. Kind reguards
