Another question about the capacitor. What is its main purpose? Is it correct to assume that you created and RC filter by introducing that capacitor to limit the frequency response of the signal? Is that the reason we see how capacitor charges and discharges instead of the square wave signal (kzread.info/dash/bejne/jKuCx5qydc3QqNI.html)?

The formula is not correct (video 0:35). The correct one is : Vout = Vin x R1/(R1+R2)

in the video you show capacitor range 0,1 uF to 1uF, but in subtitlte you show 0,1 mF to 1mF. Have you used micro or mili Faraday?

One obvious problem.. The frequency of the generated tone is not the same as the frequency shown on the scope. Therefore.. It doesn't work.

saw that too. this wouldn't be good for any meaningful diagnostics. Problem could be the mistake in his formula, or the quality of the DIY assembly/budget phone hardware. Shows promise tho. Can def. be used for diagnosis for hobbyists... ie: checking duty cycles on an Arduino

M8 it doesn't look like anything resembling a Square Wave kzread.info/dash/bejne/jKuCx5qydc3QqNI.html , but im an electrician , i know why that is , its an audio amplifier , in other words its slow , like WW Golf , Oscilloscope would be in this case ,super car . It can swing real fast and show the square . While Audio Amplifier can not even output that signal let alone take that input and amplify it , so its both devices responsible for the shape of the wave . At least if im correct and im usually spot on .
