    I was thinking of making them the same way so I'm glad to see if it works for you

    I don't think I'd ever tackle making one myself but it's good to know for emergencies. Thanks.

    They have it to a science because people don't take care of their batteries and it doesn't matter if it's pure lead because it will still degrade just as fast, it has a calculable life span and just charging or discharging it wrong will mess up that lead real quick. And they're doing it for profit of course, but i don't think we're getting ripped off as much as people don't take care of batteries because they're ignorant and they will just go to waste. Also power factor and density is a thing. But i get lucky with cheap refurbished batteries, and you do get what you pay for, if you want thick grids of lead you'll pay like 500 for it.

    the lead oxide can be converted back to lead if you ever want to recover it for something besides electrolytic paste

    this is really cool! what kind of material did you use for the separators, and how thick are they?

    Awesome i will be making my own batteries soon I was looking for ways to make then lead carbon for longer life I was also going to make grids thick What are your thoughts on lead carbon?

    Very useful for a grid down situation, eventually all batteries will break down great to know how to make your own....can your battery start a vehicle?

    2:05 Where did you get the paste for the negative plates❓ Thanks for sharing with us.

    The PbO2 paste actually goes on the positive plate (POSITIVE POLE). Battery science lingo can be tricky to understand. Just mix PbO2 with water and push paste into grid holes with scarper.

    How did you re-wet the paste? Just water?

    @@brianleake7762 Careful there dude. You’re likely to poison yourself with all that lead acid. It’s seriously toxic.

    How are you avoiding lead poisoning? I've switched to LTO batteries which last longer than I will live. Once China refuses to ship to the US, our ingenuity will save us.

    I just looked them up. They are faster to charge but have a lower energy density than lithium-ion. What is your application?

    How does lead enter the human body❓Cuts on the skin? Is the lead being heated to its vapourisation temperature.

  • @brandonmehrabi268

    @brandonmehrabi268

    Yes lead must enter the body. Even heating isn't likely to release much, but that's why you do it outside, don't huff the fumes, wear PPE etc. People still cast lead in the USA lol also just fyi...lead is literally everywhere in nature & civilization. Be aware but don't assume everything will kill you. I took have cast cells of my own & if anyone is interested read the battery builders guide by Phillip Hurley

    You can reduce that with a proper mask, gloves, apron, ventilation and over time lead count can go down on its own.

    People use lead all over the place. roofing sheets for vent pipes, casting bullets for reloads, fishing weights, all the good stuff. Third world countries literally refurbish lead acid batteries right down to reusing the plastic casing.
