The positive plate is lead oxide ( PbO2 ), also called lead peroxide. There is a video called "Lead dioxide (Lead peroxide) Synthesis" that explains how to make lead peroxide. You can also google around on how to make the lead peroxide for battery plates.
4:30 in what liquid and for how many hours does it wet the plates?
