can you check the stone while cutting? it seems like the hand piece is fixed to the platform and the stone fixing part is too short.

I don't know if it's the Bearing or the motor or the drive system but it is a very loud/noisy machine. Perfectly functional though. I guess you could wear headphones to listen to music to drown out the noise. Brilliant idea to connect a digital readout to your handpiece. I'm still trying to figure out what the Clamp on the handpiece handle is for ? To lock the handpiece down to the platen or allow it to freely rotate on the platen ? Very nice. It's amazing what you can cook up in the kitchen !

that digital unit is permanently set as well, that means it holds relative 0 until i reprogram it.. The noise is due to the yolk. Wich i made using 2 full 1/2 inch 4 bolt pillow flanged ball bearing blocks and one ball bearing in between. along with the geared belt puleys (3 of them)

I am now designing a new Mast and arm system and getting some parts CNC machined. I hope they work out ok. The are costing a lot .....

From where u take this magnifier glass.? We are dealing with lapidary gemstones faceting.

The machine is home made (designed abd built here in my kitchen during Covid Lockdowns). The fable handpiece. The elevator and spinning base i built right here in my kitchen. although those worked amazingly well I moved on to a different handpiece now. To perfect my system that you saw would have costed me a lot of time and money and not as precise as a factory well made solid unit. However I would love to help if I can. I will show you what I am using now. Lets stay in touch.

Yes sure i built and elevator piece. I designed and made my own platform as you can see and its a platform that totates on its own axis.
