Who knew that after pouring the water over the coffee, you leave it to steep & then stir it. Now my coffees taste so much better. I always used to stir it straight away, thus ruining the taste of my Americanos.

I was watching a video on how to use the moka pot and the Italian lady said that once the coffee machine has made it you must stir it before pouring. Apparently the first bit is much stronger. So you blend it with the last bit
Esspresso is what you perceive it to be. It’s not what others say it should be.
The foam is the coffee bloom. You are extracting all the amazing oils of the bean without being robbed by the paper filter. And yes anything after 3 minutes it does get bitter. I have also experimented for 2 years or more making coffee all different ways without a coffee maker. Also read up on the subject extensively. I've put coffee and brown sugar in a handkerchief and steeped it all around comes out amazing! I've thrown the grounds right into the hot water off boil of course and then strained it off. One can learn a lot through experimentation.

Ahh coffee bloom ❤️. I’d never thought of the oils that are lost through a paper filter. Yes 3 minutes seems to be the point of bitterness. It’s neat what you can learn through experimentation. Do you ever use a moka pot?

@@Dairyfreeginger I experiment a lot. The oils are essential. But so finicky. Because I think the old oil goes a little rancid. So it's a constant juggle with time. Everything is a bit ephemeral. The golidocks thing Like stewed tea after 6 minutes Tea water must be 100 percent hot. Coffee 97 percent.

@@mgtowlevel5293 the French press is my favourite. I pour 1/6 cold water on top of the poured cup. It just makes it smoother
I’d call that a strong French Press, definitely not an espresso. But, if you like it, that’s great.

I would call it strong coffee at best. But the technique is very good and better than an instant coffee. With little equipment. I would still rather use a moka that is dirt cheap.

Does a coffee grinder not count as a machine?
@Dairyfreeginger
Ай бұрын
Yes it does! However, you can make it without a coffee grinder. I’ve made this recipe several times with pre-ground coffee.
No A machine. A HALF DOZEN Joking. I like the double walled drinking cup. The good cup of coffee is quite a ritual. Similarly a Japanese tea ceremony. Pre heating is a good factor. I live in Herefordshire where the water is disgusting and hard. So much depends on good water Our kettles get a load of lime fur/scale. I noticed that up in Scotland the kettle get a black fur /scale from the soft peaty water. The same water that makes the best whiskey. Nice video. Keep on experimenting .

It can not be considered as espresso because the recipe does not considering pressure. Yes, it's espresso-style just because probably taste is super-concentrated, but the whole idea of espresso is using high pressures to make a beverage.

How is it cold if it uses boiling water?
@KingsleyComanIsCool
Жыл бұрын
@@kyoxtohru112she does use boiling water but the thing is she didnt maintain the heat of it in the coffee. We all know that if you leave something hot out for a while it will go cold, same thing. The point of an espresso is to maintain the heat so its pressurized. Without doing so you wont get espresso

I'm not mocking you. I will try your method. I have been watching the moka pot people rebrandinng the old espresso pot. Duh. Its still lousy in my opinion. I think you are on to something. Because in end it's about the taste. At moment I just use the French press and don't let it steep. I then dribble a sixth of cold water on top of the poured cup. It's just the smoothest cup of coffee I can make with the least amount of equipment and time.
