  • @OutsideChronicles

    @OutsideChronicles

    4 жыл бұрын

    Good question, it was about 1.5 rolls total for the two bags (I have about half left in my garage) . The 60# bag used more of course. I figured on using both rolls, but it was not necessary. I made sure there was 2-3 layers covering the surface. Of course, it won't hurt to put more. I used the standard 3M rolls found at Lowes, 2-pack.

    Can you describe/show how to make the handles again? Kinda confusing

  • @OutsideChronicles

    @OutsideChronicles

    4 жыл бұрын

    Sure, what you want to do is take a length of duct tape that can go around the circumference of the sandbag twice (ideally it should be a little more than twice). Then fold that in half so the sticky sides come together. You should be left with a length of duct tape that is doubled up, that can go all the way around the bag and overlap a little bit. Next, wrap that length like a candy cane with tape, this will reinforce it. Finally, put this reinforced length of tape around the circumference of the bag, overlapping a little and tape it in. Make sure you leave room to put your hands through. Hope this makes sense.

  • @kevinmai4015

    @kevinmai4015

    4 жыл бұрын

    I believe I got it, you lost me after the candy cane part though... So I have the roll of duck tape that can go over the sand bag little more than twice, I fold it in half so the stick sides are adhered (no sticky parts at all-the whole tape is the smoothed back side). Wrap that once around the sand bag, with the lip overlapping a bit and then take another roll of tape over the lip/overlap and go around it another time to adhere it down? Is the grip going to hold up over time? I’m thinking about putting some somewhat soft styrofoam like padding to make the handgrip

  • @OutsideChronicles

    @OutsideChronicles

    @@kevinmai4015 That is the candy cane part (or barbershop pole). Maybe wrapping like a hockey stick grip or baseball bat grip is a better analogy. This has held up from me.

    Thank you for pinning the comment. I don’t think I ended up doing it right lol, the sand bad caves in and creates more of a gap/space between the bag when I lift it (I didn’t tighten the tape too much when taping the bag). Wasn’t sure how you candy cane taped the handles down...

    Nate, did you double up the duct tape (putting the sticky sides together) and then wrap around the whole bag? I then crisscrossed duct tape inside and outside where the handle creates space for your hands. If that still seems to be not enough, then I would suggest going to gorilla tape.
