1 / 2 cup icing sugar
1 / 4 cup shredded coconut
1 / 4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup chopped peanuts
2 cups chocolate chips (chipits)
Place the ingredients in a saucepan and stir and melt over medium low heat until smooth and liquid.
Fill the cavities of a chocolate mold or a plastic egg carton to about half. Spread up side to make chocolate shells.
Allow to harden.
Cherry cream
1 / 4 cup icing sugar
1 tbsp or so cherry juice (made in the jar of maraschino cherries)
Stir together until smooth and runny (add enough juice to make it runny)
Place a tsp of cherry cream in the hardened shell, drop in a cherry and then cap with more melted chocolate mixture.
Allow to harden. Wrap in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. If your chocolate gets soft at room temperature, refrigerate uneaten candies.

This is definitely a chocolate you eat only once in a while haha! These are delicious, but SO SWEET! Have it with a glass of milk! These candy bars bring back memories every time I come by them. Something about old school candies that just make you smile.
Of course you already made a cherry blossom video! I was wondering what I was going to do with the rest of my maraschino cherries left over from my cherry bourbon ball bites. I drooled the whole time I watched this; excellent job, Tammy!
These are like the same as a cherry cordial 😍😍😍😍😍

Yes, quite similar, but the chocolate has a few add ins :)
I love these so much! Some of my favorite candies!
Man I've been subscribed for a long time, your channel has grown A LOT!
these look amazing!
Hello! Just made a batch of these -- I'll be giving them to my Dad for Christmas, he is going to LOVE it! Thank you so much for the recipe ☺️
she must be popular at work with this candy...that's a good idea to use plastic egg cartons
That's a giant cherry cordial. Awesome! I'm adding these to my candy making bucket list. Thanks for the tutorial.

omg.. i loooooove those cherry blossoms. buy them all the time!!! i'll try making them!
Tammmmmyy!!! My mom is gonna LOVE these!
I just ate one! They are soooo good I wanted to see if anybody had made a homemade or giant version. No giant versions. Probably because there are no giant cherries. The commercial one actually uses solid chocolate (no nuts, coconut) for the plug base.
definitely gonna try to make those!!
We have something similar to these in America, Queen Anne's is a good brand of chocolate covered cherries. Some of the cherries contain like a super soft fondant that oozes out with the cherry filling and some just have the cherry. Queen Anne's I believe have the fondant. They're called "Cherry Cordial" or "Chocolate Covered Cherries" here. Ours don't usually have peanuts or coconuts, and are bite sized. (Though most of us like to bite it in half to enjoy the oozing)

I was actually just thinking about these recently! They were (and still are) a childhood favorite of mine, possibly still holding a special place in my heart since Smiths Falls is where I was born :P I havent been able to find anything similar while I am staying in Sweden. Now I know how to make them! Thanks a bunch :)

Just found your video - totally making these for this Christmas because I just ate my last one!! Hello from England 😁
I love these chocolates. Totally forgot about them till this video. Have to go out and get a few.
As always thank you for the lovely recipe! If you want to prevent the candies from going soft at room temperature you could try tempering your chocolate and THEN adding the nuts, powdered sugar and peanut butter, or using candy melts/compound chocolate. Have a great week!
@yoyomax12

Yes, I think tempering would have done the trick
I love cherry blossoms! They're one of my Dad's favourites as well so I'll have to make these for him and I! :)
It was my mom's favorite! She passed on but when I see them it reminds me of her love of Chocolate! Yummy!
Yummy! Thanks!

Gotta try this! BUT note that in the recipe provide in the link, they say about the cherry cream "Mixing the ingredients and place 1 minute microwave High", DON'T do it 'cus you'll end up with cherry candies LOL. Also I've notice that in that recipe they do not use the "1/4 cup chopped peanuts", they only use the peanut butter. I prefer with the chopped peanuts though. And thanks for this video!
very original
WOW......THANKS
these are one of my fave

HA! and now I know to save my plastic egg cartons and what to do with them... Genius... I LOVE Cherry Blossoms; we used to get one in our stockings as children. And yes, they are pretty much the exact same today as they were 40 years ago! And now that you've shown me how easy they are to make... Going to have to think about FedEx'ing some along with Christmas gifts this year... if any make it that far- can see myself eating every last one and not sharing them at all... LOL

This 🍬 candy is so good my mom and dad bought me this candy.And my 👵 grandmother my dad's mom.
We have something very similar called chocolate covered cherries. (I know, very original name) you get a box of a dozen. No nuts in the chocolate though. I make them homemade for my Dad on holidays. They are his favorite candies.
we have them in the u.s its just called chocolate coverd cherries. yum I want some now.
Awesome

So how long does the molded chocolate chill?
Fun Fact: the Hershey factory in Smiths Falls has been closed since 2008. The factory is now home to a medical marijuana company, Tweed Marijuana Inc.
Im in the UK and I think I can remember eating something very similar when I was younger but I cant remember what they were called. They were so good though!
I'd bet the dark chocolate tastes better than the original! Great recipe. thanks. :)

I am a dark chocolate lover so I agree with you!
oh yum!
These look really good! I have never seen these before because I don't live in Canada. The only problem is that I don't like cherries....
These look amazing! I heard if you cover cherries in rollable fondant icing them dip in chocolate, the fondant melts within a week from the cherry liquid, and forms the same effect as you have here inside the chocolate. May make for an easier time dipping to get truffle type chocolates. But then it's far harder (read: impossible) to wait for a week before eating!
@yoyomax12

They actually add an enzyme (invertase) to the solid fondant that gradually breaks it down into a liquid inside. I didn't have any so I improvised :)
@Ffeabysawsen

Beautiful!!!! Question what is in the Liquid cherry ones??? Not the cordials but the other kind??? it's more like thick cherry juice...
@magdalene74
6 жыл бұрын
you roll the cherries around in powdered sugar then double dip them in chocolate and the sugar and juices from the cherry mix and melts the sugar after a little time (i like two weeks) and makes that juicy stuff
Hi there...I just tried making them and I followed along with your video exactly to the syllable, but my chocolate mixture did not melt like yours. Mine was a thick paste. I ended up trying to add some heavy whipping cream to thin it out, which helped a bit, but the consistency was just not the same. Did you do something a bit different during the time lapse? Thanks...
@yoyomax12
3 жыл бұрын
What you see in the video is exactly what I did. Sorry things didn’t work out for you
For the benefit of non-Canadians: Cherry Blossom is much different than chocolate covered cherries. Cherry Blossoms have a much thicker crust and there are nuts in the crust.

@yoyomax12

There is no way that the Cherry Blossom candy contains a fresh cherry that has been fermented in the candy. The candy contains a maraschino cherry and I would bet my house on the fact that they are bought already made by the company that makes these.
