Sponge Toffee/Honeycomb/Seafoam candy (homemade Crunchie bars)- with yoyomax12
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Sponge toffee is very crunchy but melts in your mouth. If you love Cadbury Crunchie bars, dip your toffee pieces in chocolate.
Candy playlist: kzread.info?list...
2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup white corn syrup
1/3 cup water
4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
In a large saucepan, stir together sugar, corn syrup and water over medium heat just until sugar dissolves.
Bring to boil and continue to cook without stirring. Brush down side of pan occasionally with pastry brush dipped in cold water, until candy thermometer reaches hard-crack stage of 300°F
Video of hard crack stage: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aI2cmdCuoJvXmag.html&ab_channel=noreenlou
Remove from heat.Whisk in baking soda. (sugar mixture will bubble and sputter and increase in volume! Be careful!) Whisk in vanilla.
Pour into greased foil-lined 13- x 9-inch pan. Let cool without disturbing, about 2 hours. Break into pieces. Dip pieces in melted chocolate if desired. Store layered between waxed paper in airtight container.

Finally. A simple sponge candy recipe. And without gelatin. Thank you.
I'm a Canadian girl right from Toronto and I grew up calling it Sponge Toffee, the bulk barn here in Canada sells it and they sell it as sponge toffee. The crunchie bar is my FAV!!!!!!! I'm going to try this as soon as I get a candy thermometer. Thanks for the video I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos!
Just used your recipe, and never made anything like this before and it turned out fantastic!!!! Thanks so much for this video!!!
Oh my! I remember, about 10 years ago, my father went away on a business trip. When he got back he brought me and my brothers presents and candy bars. This was one of them. I haven't had one of those since then. Cadbury is extremely hard to find where I live. I didn't even remember the name of those. You just brought me vivid memories of my childhood. Thank you!
I have been looking all over for a sponge toffee tutorial! Thank you! Subscribed!!
Haha, the other day my friend and I were eating Crunchie bars, dying to know a recipe! Thanks Tammy!
That is still one of my favorite candy bars .. I never knew it was this easy to make thank you so much for sharing
I love watching you make copycat candy bars! They are my all time favorite videos
Thank you for the fantastic recipe!!! I have tried so many honeycomb recipes and they are always chewy rather than crunchy, this came out perfect!!! :D
This is definitely going on my list of goodies to make for the holidays!
Thanks for sharing this recipe!! I love this candy!

I remember this as being called "Seafoam" and it is one of my favorite candies. Thank you for the recipe ( and a new subscriber) !
Years ago, my friends mom gave me a crunchie bar and it was the most delicious thing I'd ever had but I never was able to think of the name all these years later. Thank you sooooo much for sharing this recipe! I just made a batch and am waiting for it to cool down so I can dip them in chocolate and transport back to my childhood. I'll leave another comment when I'm all done to let you know how I did! thanks again! I love your channel and subbed!
My grandma used to make this, and it's been my favourite for years. Thank you for the recipe! I'm hoping I can make this for my fiance so he can get a peek into my childhood.
Anything homemade always looks better and tastes better. :)
Thanks for this recipe! I just made it and it was easy and it came out perfect! My first attempt!
I love the name Sponge Toffee instead of Honeycomb! A much better description of it too!
I love crunchie bars too , so just made this . Thanks for ingredients I never relised how easy it would be ! My grandchildren will be well pleased to have a small bag of this, If there’s any left 😋
So happy to find this. I was born in Toronto Canada, lived there until I was 7 then we moved to the States...I always remembered that sponge candy and how much I loved it and then years and years later I found it covered in chocolate at a candy store...and then eventually, at World Market packaged by Cadbury. It's not available just anywhere. My memory of it as a child was with no chocolate and we called it sponge candy, not honeycomb. I find all this debate about the name amusing...it's just so good! As one person below put it with a Shakespearean twist,, candy by any other name is still as sweet...Thank you so much for posting this recipe!
Thank you so much! You just taught me how to make my FAVOURITE chocolate bar! :D
I've been looking for this recipie forever !
Everyone in my area calls that type of candy "sea foam", and it can only be found in the nice candy/chocolate shops where everything is crazy expensive; I'm so glad to find out how easy it is to make! ^-^
I made this today and it was delicious, first recipie I made from you channel AND my first candy making

Yum, I love seafoam (what I know this heaven to be called). I had some at the beach earlier this week and was determined to try making it at home. The kind I had was covered in dark chocolate with sea salt sprinkled on top. Thanks for the recipe!
I used to find it some apple stands in New England but I haven't been able to find it. I'm glad that I found a recipe that I can finally make it at home.

This was one of my favorites as a kid.
It looks yummy! Hugs!
Crunchies have never been my fave but I used to get them as a kid when I wanted something that would last me longer than a Coffee Crisp or Kit Kat... Sponge toffee is so nice to take a little bite of and just let it melt on your tongue! I may have to try this :)
We call that Angel Food in Wisconsin! I love this stuff! :D

Here is Australia it is called Honeycomb. I've also heard it called Hokey Pokey. But a candy by any other names tastes as sweet.

I always thought hokey pokey was chunks of butterscotch? It never ceases to amaze me how differently named the same things are around the world - but still in the same language! :)

KeemaMUA right! I think it's so funny to hear people call cookies biscuts. In America biscuts are a buttery flakey bread. It's so funny and interesting

Yours looks more yummy 😋
Really mouthwatering. Yummo :^P
I loved this candy when I was a kid. We used to buy it as a chocolate bar and sometimes fresh without the chocolate. I thought it was real honeycomb when I was a kid, and that it came from the hive ;-)
I made this for my family and it was so delicious! They are begging me to make it again
I think I just found a new treat to make!
How fun Tammy ! I remember Crunchie bars used to make my tongue raw. Guess it was the baking soda. Delicious though. You inspire so many.
I'm about to go make this ! I hope it works out
that looks great i'm going to try it. My fav was the bounty bar do you have a recipe for that
