You are very kind. Thank you!
I bet that is Molly's dog food. Wow how cool to make your own bait. I hope you get some big catfish.

Yes, it's Molly's food, but that's what we also feed the cats. This bait is working well for us. Thanks, Wendy.
I'm commenting as I watch if there is several. I have that same bowl..o l..I know you had fun with that jugline. I've enjoyed watching y'all enjoying it.
That is truly super awesome experiment you should be proud 😊

Lol. Yeah I'm real proud that i get to stick my hands in that stinky stuff.i can deal with it though thanks, Tammy!
Shredded cotton is the best for holding it together 🤙
We used a cornmeal mixture when I was little but I can’t remember for the life of me what all was in it, all I know if it really worked well. I think James and I will give this dog food recipe a try in the spring. Have a great week. 😁 Cheryl

I'll have to look up about the cornmeal mixture. I do know that its common to use corn for catfish bait. I'm thinking that I'll try various concoctions next spring.
1. 20 cattle range cubes. 2. Water to desolve cubes to a mush. 3. 1C. Garlic powder. 4. 1C. Black molasses syrup. 5. 3C.+, Flour. Mix all together, knead till stiff dough is formed. Tried and true
Wow 6 that is cold you are colder than us .. I find this very interesting ✌️☮️👍❤️

six degrees was way cold for us. It only happened one morning. It's still cooler than normal but acceptable. Thanks, Brenda
Great!
I hope there are more homemade bait experiments coming!

probably going to wait until next spring to make different catfish baits, but its in the plan. Thank you, Tim!
You should try the catfish food you use to feed them as bait... Mix it like you did this homemade bait but don't use the stink bait use some flour with it you know how sticky flour doe is... It's good to see the circle hooks are working well for you... Another Great Video...

We're out of catfish good and don't want to buy more until spring. I'll try using that next year. I'd have to do some experimenting with the flour. Thanks for the help.
I figured out for super sticky dough bait pick up regular biscuits put in food processor with dough bait will expand and become extra extra sticky use flour and oil to cut the stickiness if needed
Great editing sista

thank you, Tammy!
I love 1 1/2 to 2 lb catfish to me it’s the best meat to eat
Use a flour or corn starch as a binding agent. This works for me. A's with all things fishing it depends.
That might be worth a try...however...I'll wait till spring....and I'm not using my microwave 😂😉

What kind of dog food do you use ?
I don't know if you eat ducks? The intestines really stink are oily and cut in 1 1/2" pieces work great on catfish lines. They stay one the line for days. We used to use cutting pliers to cut them up. They freeze fine. The cat fish love them.

Earlier this year i butchered a lot of ducks. Wish I'd known about this information then. I don't know when I'll be butchering more, but if i do I'll save the intestines for fishing. Thanks!
What bra d of circle hooks are they

I don't know the brand. They were just in the tackle box.
Velveeta cheese as a binding agent...Works well .
huh normally I use perch or cut perch on jugs and trotlines.and I'll explain, the big reason I never use the traditional baits for cats is it only attracts juveniles.after that stage catfish hunt exclusively, and fish is pretty much their whole diet.the second reason would be simply doughbaits durability lol.these fishing methods tend to be set to work over time, and most if not all of those traditional cat baits will simply resolve after a while.though in some situations,I can see how this idea can still be an option to consider.as example some areas I fish simply don't have large catfish, and if I know this, then yes,it would make perfect sense to use the more traditional baits.and yes, ditch those stupid trebles lol.worst hook for catfish lol.circle or octopus hooks all the way.

@@TheNealsHomestead thanks for getting back with me we live on Lake Granbury , Texas and I was look for alternative bates in Fort Worth , Texas .
Don't use treble hook, use circle hook.
That looks like eagle mountain dog food what I feed my mongrels
Careful, channel cats will not reproduce in a pond without specific spawning boxes that you have to make are in place. Easy to fish out a pond
I think your better off keeping smaller ones and throwing back the breeders.

The experts tell me that catfish usually don't successfully raise babies in a pond situation.
You're wasting your electric city, just use your hands, and if you don't want to dirty your hand then put on some plastic gloves. You can also use chicken lever with flour to mixes it into dough.

The fish have totally stopped biting. I don't know if it's the weather, or if we need to move the line again, it what.
