Chumming the Canal for 3 Days! Then Fishing it!

Ойын-сауық

Canal fishing at its finest! I chummed this section of the canal for 3 days and then fished it!
I boiled about 10lbs of corn and included some panko and jello in the mix. This type of chum can attract all kinds of species of fish. From carp and catfish, to even small baitfish.
After dumping all this food into the Arizona canal, the fish were mostly congregated in this spot! Arizonas canal systems go on for miles, so it was great to concentrate the fish to catch them easier.
As you can see me and my buddy had a pretty awesome day of canal fishing. We almost fell in the canal a few times but hey its all in fun XD.
Canal carp fishing can be so much fun. Arizona fishing is mainly carp and catfish for bait fisherman, so go out there and chum up your canal!
This method works in any body of water, if you feed fish long enough, they will come.

I will never forget being a 10 year old kid and catching a 33 inch carp on a Zebco 202. I don't need to tell ya that the reel could handle it but, somehow, I landed it by grabbing the line and going hand over fist to get her in. The ol' timers were laughing but that changed when I got the beast ashore. One of the best memories of fishing in the Erie Canal.

Try no weight and feed your line out. The natural current in the canal will let you walk with the bait as it drifts down. I've caught lots in between the bridges like that when they stop hitting under the bridge. Just a little tip. Tight lines bro!

Try returning your carp carefully from the steps next time instead of throwing them back from a great height. All you are doing is making the wary fish aware them are being fished for with those splashes and noises. They learn. Want the big ones be more stealthy, it pays. Been carp fishing over 50 years, it works, try it. And yeah prebait works big time too, as you found out.

@@itsUncleMonK When I learnt to fish I listened to wiser experienced anglers to learn from them, today their knowledge is ignored and dissed by those not understanding the value of it. You really think you know way more than hugely experienced carp anglers. Go ahead fool, keep dumping your fish back in from a great height, learn nothing through you brash arrogance. Your methods are pretty crude and basic to us Europeans let me tell you. And just as you are wrong with your fishing practice you are wrong with your arrogance and assumptions too as I have never been more active fitter and stronger, a gym goer multiple times a week I sit around as little as possible and most years land fish well over the 50lb mark. Having fished freshwater all over the world for the biggest monsters I have so far landed 7 different species over 100lb weight including Siamese carp to over 150lb. Quite an angling resume. Your wishful thinking could not be further from the mark. And to think my original advice was offered with good intent. I certainly misjudged you too didn’t I. Carry on in blissful ignorance then. For others who want genuinely to catch the biggest check out the numerous European carp fishing channels where techniques to catch carp have been evolving for the last 70 years and are as advanced as your specialised tournament bass fishing. Not that you seem to be open minded enough to learn anything beneficial….Lol

What was the original reason for the construction of these canals? We have canals in Scotland that were originally built to transport goods but this one looks tiny. Here for the fishing but love a good canal 🎣😂👍

Super cool catching fish. Just curious about whatever state you guys are in. In Florida it's illegal to release invasive fish into a body of water even though that's the body of water in which it was caught. Florida fish and wildlife actually Grant youth lifetime fishing license when they hold contests for who can kill the most invasive fish. ....... Just a thought

I am in AZ here. Carp are actually not invasive here. They prefer them in the canals because they keep them clean. Kinda crazy

Someone caught a northern pike in that canal a couple years ago, but more likely than not, some idiot brought it down from one of the lakes up north & dumped it, must’ve been horrible for a cold water fish to swim in what is essentially bath water. I wish the person would have gotten caught in the act.
