If you add Citric Acid (Vitamin C Powder), it’ll preserve your Aloe Vera Gel/Juice for longer. Citric Acid is a natural preservative. You can get at Whole Foods. Just a tip! 👍🏾

  • @The504sue

@@dempress3549normally you leave it in for like 20-30 minutes. I usually leave it in while I do a bunch of stuff around the house, then I rinse it. But I like to leave a little in my hair, so I don’t rinse mine 100% I’m telling you. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, has ever made my hair as soft as aloe does. I condition my hair with aloe only, now. I’ve been doing this for about 2 months consistently every time I wash my hair. And my hair is super dry. I’ve never been able to find anything to work well. I’ve tried all different types of conditioners, natural conditioner. Aloe blew me away! I’m not sure if my hair had to detox or not. I’ve also been washing my hair with apple cider vinegar only for about a year. My hair definitely detoxed when I started that. ACV restored the PH balance. When you go natural for anything, your body detoxes all of the heavy metals & chemicals you’ve been putting into your body for years.

The aloe vera content is destroyed if you freeze it, it doesn´t tolerate the minus degrees, so I wouldn´t put it in the freezer if you want to save all to good content of the plant.

I make my own gel too but keep the pulp to mix with my night facial moisturizer that I keep in the fridge. I put the gel in silicone large cupcake/muffin mold and freeze overnight then pop them out and put in freezer bags. One or two of these is enough for pre-poo treatment once every 7-10days. It completely detangles my now midback length hair. I also freeze the pulp in the same way. This works great for my normally dry skin and hair.

Too messy for me. I put the aloe chunks in a fine screen strainer over a large measuring cup. I use a small paring knife that works great to quickly remove the pulp then use a spoon to scape a couple of times to make sure I get all the aloe off. Then I rub the small amount of gel on my hands onto my hair.

I don't like to waste my aloe, so I have been putting my aloe in an ice tray and freezing it into cubes. That way it lasts a bit longer. Then when I make my aloe sprits, I can take 1-2 cubes out at a time and add them to the spray I make. I add oils to it and some distilled water, and it's ready to go. I do use an antimicrobial in it as well to give it a shelf life. If I use it daily, I tend to make it every week. It works great, and my hair smells great. I like using it between washes.

The best method is have found for getting the Aloe out of the leaf after u have taken off the sides 1- use a knife to peel off the top surface of the leaf by gliding the knife just under the surface. 2- use a spoon to scoop the gel off of the remaining surface. You can go back and scoop of any little on the first side if you want. It is quicker and less messier.

Wonderful video, thank you. I have dry skin, eczema. Will this gel help as a moisturizer for me. I have used aloe gel store bought on my face for years. After watching your video I want to make my own. I am all for diy anything if possible. I currently use cocoa butter or shea butter lotions. Would the aloe gel work better to moisturize my dry skin? Thanks

I advise against using your nails for removing the juice. Nails have tons of nasty bacteria under them! You don’t wanna put that on your face or in your body.

careful with the dilution of peppermint oil, as it can burn the skin. Check the % recommended first. It is the vitamin E (or C) which helps keeping the product longer, the essential oils are more for extra healing and scent purpose; saying this as I did an aromatherapy course and this infos was shared on the first day
