Homeless Ex-Marine Will Take Your Breath Away Playing Piano in the Streets

A homeless man with a scruffy beard and long scraggly hair looks like a lost soul. But he has magic fingers on the piano and his talent is breathtaking. He's playing the piano on a public sidewalk in Sarasota, Florida. No one expected to hear such... #InsideEdition

    As a retired Marine, I have no words for what I would do to his son to make him realize the importance of his father, and to seek him out because that man is deserving of respect. Now, I can't make his son realize; I can only teach him, and hopefully that's enough. Everyone gets dragged down in society, but everyone can climb out of that "sunken place" too. This world is NOT what he and I fought for. This is something I don't know anymore.

    With you 100%. Who knows what this Marine witnessed to change his life. War does that to people - no matter how strong, how good, how devoted to human liberty and freedom. I talk with the homeless here in L.A. - help out as I can. We all should. But instead of sending 50 billion to Ukraine oligarchs, the money should help here.

    "Do something for these people." Thats a lot coming from someone who probably never went homeless, never slept without a bed. YOU probably do not know how hard it is to do things like that easily. Would YOU be prepared to donate more than one hundred dollars that YOU earned? I'd like for you to know how hard it would be to do this, how hard it is to come back from homelessness, and that human nature would prevent people from donating enough to financially aid all homeless people.

  • @nanallen1

    @nanallen1

    @@BassS1nger Yes. I just gave $160 to a homeless 66 year old black woman who has a degree, had professional job, then had a stroke. I am looking for housing in L.A. And only can find these terrible “ shelters.” With lots of drug use, everything stolen. No individual rooms. I also donate $200. Month for my 95 year old friend for her rent. I am 70+ , social security of $900. But my husband is still alive and we own a modest 70 year old home. If I can do this, so can thousands of others. But the bloated city, county, state, federal governments need to get busy to solve this homeless issue - for all homeless.

    He seems content with his life. Notice how he wants his son to come track him down vs him finding his son? or that he's ok playing for tips? I served in the USMC over 20 years ago, this man is 15 years my senior; I would never abandon my children without a very serious reason. Perhaps him staying with his child would have caused more harm than good, so he left. He may have mental issues because of his service experience but he also likely doesn't want to deal with the "system" any more. I don't blame him and wish him well.

    Cowboy Curtis those things have nothing to do with being a marine, you’re just venting your anger and putting aside logic. You can’t compare earning the title of marine and being stripped of your title as a Doctor because of medical malpractice... come on, even a middle schooler can see that.

Not necessarily on purpose, but it shows that people still look down their noses at people who have fallen on hard times and live on the street. A little more thought in what they were saying and HOW they were saying it would have gone a long way in my opinion.
