This was a genius move. Everyone thought cartman was messing with Kyle, me included. Turns out he wasn't, then when he makes a sacrifice he gets screwed. It's the opposite of how we would expect things to play out, and honestly the most realistic ending. People like cartman as a source of comedy and because he is so awful to others, the guy we love to hate. Realistically he is a selfish jerk who is always a victim and blames his problems on others, never taking responsibility for his actions. The ending makes sense and is hilarious because everyone else is now so ridiculously happy. It's like an inverted version of its a wonderful life.

@@hz-ic2cw I mean it’s not exactly obvious when cartman’s whole Schtick is putting an inordinate amount of effort into messing with someone for shits and giggles. That amount of effort may not be realistic but this is a fucking cartoon that is, on a constant basis, way far from being realistic. Even how the special portrayed it, I was on-and-off on what I believed. When I heard he became a rabbi, I believed he had turned over a new leaf. Even when grown-up Kyle first accused it of being a ruse, I believed it was genuine up until Cartman failed to acknowledge why Kyle would be so paranoid about him, chalking it up as an ongoing childish delusion, rather than a fucked up preconception of Eric based on how he treated Kyle. It took me until Cartman being willing to give up his family and decent life to think “Whoah, he actually changed.”

Because he didn't raise himself. He was raised in an environment that was everything like him except they needed a Cartman to blame for their evil, wicked ways. South Park is a modern day Rome with many of it's inhabitants pretending they're civilized because it helps them avoid the disgusting sinners they all are and how much they've corrupted their own children. Also, please do explain how it was wrong. He lost everything BECAUSE he was full of shit. He never loved his family and that's many of your problems if you like Cartman, he is a piece of garbage who has destroyed many people's lives for his own gains. For fuck sakes, he convinced 33 women (Masonic number, by the way) to abort their fetuses just so he could build a new Stuckey's. Never in this world is he a good person, only when he wants to get what he wants.

Im binging the whole series now and this whole thing is a callback to when Eric bought that park. It's a universal trade off. In order for Cartman to be truly happy, something bad must happen that's equal in value to what makes Cartman happy. In the case of the Park, the person he hated the most, as well as one of the more good natured of the boys, got a hemroid and nearly died. In this case, for Cartmans family, covid appeared. And for covid to vanish, Cartman must suffer.

In the first part movie, you seen of what happen between the spit of Stan, Kyle, and Kenny and how they grew living there own life. Cartman moved out of South Park where he grew up making a change for himself. He found a wife and together have 3 kids. You notice when returning back to South Park and seeing the same faces from before and brought the old Cartman out of him for a short while. If you really think and research on it, Cartman is who he is because of the friends he with and the town he was in. It is what made him the way he is. Cartman sacrifice his family just make things better which end up worst for Cartman. To me I felt that was unfair. So, I don't agree he deserve it. He should of still kept his family

Cartman might be a bad human in the show's context, but in reality he's a legendary character, He has made south park what it is today, he deserves a way better ending than this. It's not that i care why did they made him homeless, i don't care if they wanted to go for a bad ending for cartman, that's fine but it should've been so bad that it could atleast be unique, him ending up a homeless guy doesn't actually makes sense considering the fact that he's a crazy manipulative psychopath, he's too smart to end up like this imo
