"Dale acquired this one" made me tear up. I never met your Dad but he was such a presence.I watched his early spots and I loved his enthusiasm. One day I will make a pilgrimage to Maggie Valley. Thanks for keeping the dream alive.

Man, that home-built Harley 45 hill climber is just too cool! It brings back fond memories of the Miami Hill Climb my older brother took me to sometime in the 60's. By the way, that's Miami, Manitoba, Canada, not Miami, Florida. This particular hill climb event was likely too small to attract factory-sponsored racers. Most participants were local Joe Blows and Manitoba motorcycle club members. They were running all manner of nasty home-built, stretched out, Harley, Indian and British hill climbers. The noise, the dust, the smell of exhaust fumes, and the tough bikers! What a rush for an impressionable 14 year old! Still riding and wrenching at 67!

A mile down the road from me was one of the original hillclimbs. My grandfather would talk about it throughout his life. He said nobody could get over the top and guys from all over the country would come every year. But after the first guy made it, they all started to. It was killed off later and now that hillside is a straight up hill and completely filled in with trees.

They still hold Hill Climbs, well at least I think they still do, they did like 10 years ago or so, but over in Oregonia, Ohio, the other side of Lebanon, Ohio. . Anyways that’s the last big event of the year, every year, at the end of summer, start of fall. Man I love watching those, awesome! And it’s on my bucket list to get to Maggie Valley one day! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I got a 1960-70's triple blade lawn mower that has a single cylinder cast iron engine that is as big as that V twin... maybe i should do something with it? think that old flat head engine could push out 50lbft? its got 3 rotating blades 4ft cutting width weighs 280lbs and was self propelled.

Been watching all your Vids. Absolutely awesome but I have a question. Can you even Ride a new Bike?😂 The controls are so different. You say that neck is sketch, it's lasted this long. People took pride in their work so things had a tendency to last. Through the lens of today it may be sketchy but the guys who raced these things had cojones the likes of which are reserved for SF guys today.
