HOME TRAILS - Ep 1 - Jasmin Paris and The Barkley Marathons

Спорт

Welcome to HOME TRAILS, a documentary series with a difference.
In this series I interview ultrarunners in their home environments. We talk about training and racing whilst we run their local trails, then we dial it back for a relaxed conversation at home.
Episode 1 is with none other than Jasmin Paris, who made history by becoming the first woman to finish the legendary Barkley Marathons held in Tennessee in the US.
Jasmin finished the course under the 60 hour cutoff, with only 90 seconds to spare!
in this episode of Home Trails, we speak about her training leading up to this years race.
The pressure and responsibility she feels being in the gaze of the worlds media and the legacy she now leaves for future generations female runners.
As always, please like, subscribe and feel free to circulate this episode to anyone who would benefit from the inspiration it contains.

“If you can’t keep this pace up, go faster” genius. I did a challenging 100k last weekend and this quote kept coming to me. One super tough lady and inspiring person. 😊

I listened to it this morning and though I’d misheard. Great quote, definitely using it.

She's a lovely, wonderful person. So driven to succeed, but such an inspirational woman with the ability to show what is possible if you try hard enough.

Such an inspiring and incredible person on so many levels. Love her perspective on sustainable events - seeing this in ultra cycle racing now with riders cycling to the start.

I'm running on the exact same spots on the Pentlands near Edinburgh! Never had a chance to see Jasmin out there though.
