This is by far the best race related/ gear video I have ever seen, and I have watched way more than would be considered healthy. Thank you.
Brilliant. Should be required watching. Really informative a detailed. Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to produce this very informative video. Very much appreciated
Absolutely brilliant video. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
Fantastic video - thanks
Thanks for this, you've put my mind at ease alot with this. Although doing the challenger north to start with, it's helped
Watched this on the TV when I realised how good it was, totally engaging and comprehensive explanation and breakdown of your kit! Definitely going to bookmark this, subscribed too! 😊👍🏻
What an excellent video, so we'll explained thank you
Thank you for that excellent dip into the Spine Kit 👏
Having spent 30 years in the infantry I thought I knew all there was to know about kit but that was an education. I did the 2016 Spine in inov8 mud claw and had wet feet from the start a good sock made the difference. But I will certainly be looking at the footwear set-up you recommend thank you for your knowledge ps i,m old school map and compass for me
Cheers - I am doing Winter South in 2024

Just wanted to say a MASSIVE thankyou for this video. I Took part in the Summer Spine Race this year and finished. This guide was an awesome starting point towards getting my kit right and fine-tuned 👊🏽🔥
thank you so much, i am running the Spine North 2024 and your video helped me a lot to collect my gear...
Ordered the Gecko vest pack from you after watching this, super piece of kit
The best gloves I've ever purchased are Showa Temres 282. Highly recommend for cold weather adventures.
Wow! Thank you ever so much for all this priceless information and advice. I have just learned a heck of a lot. (And been very inspired!) Brilliant!
Great vid! What size Epxed have you used for the sleep system?
Great video. Thank you.
This is great and well worth watching a few times. Great advice cheers James
Amazing in depth and helpful video James. Many thanks.
Brilliant video thanks 🙏 No current Spine ambitions but eyeing up some ‘shorter’ winter races and some of this info will be very applicable.
Great video, what are the Gore tex over trousers used? i can't see them in the link
Great review, gloves are huge in terms of impact, I did a lot of testing and still had problems last year, those mitts look good, I have the same but with fingers but they can be horrendous getting on in the wet, next time I'll have mittens. How are those la sportiva cyklon for size compared to Hoka ? Hoka fit me perfect and I'll have to order some of those FX online.
@jameselson what fit size did you go for with the Geko 20+? Cheers
