    Absolutely fantastic speech, I watched it because I felt some injustice in my marriage but now realise that I also have faults and I am man enough to rectify the most important relationship in my life. It’s literally the most important speech I’ve heard that impacts on our lives that respects everyone but puts them in there place.

    Thank you brother Belal, a very well articulated guide of marriage in Islam. Problem is a lot of people conflate cultural practices with reIslam did not make marriage black and white, but unfortunately we have some people who treat it that way, unfortunately we even have people with a platform propagating the wrong understanding of marriage, or people cherry picking certain teachings to forward their agenda of control or to put down men/women. This is one of the best guides to marriage I have come across, because it captures the true essence and form of marriage in Islam. Marriage is not about women running men dry and extorting them, nor is marriage about subjugating, controlling and abusing women. Allah has made marriage, that it can be beautiful, but that’s only if we love for the sake of Allah and follow the guide given to us in the Qur’an and by the prophet Muhammad (SAW).

    What the husband loves in his wife: 1. When she shows respect: she respects his leadership, respects that he's her protector and respects that he's her provider 2. When she looks good for him 3. When she appreciates his efforts and abilities 4. When she talks good of him to her family and his family 5. When she gives physical touches What the wife loves in his husband: 1. When he protects, defends and supports her. 2. When he listens to her and he talks to her 3. When he gives tender physical touches and he is gentle in general 4. When he compliments her and shows that he's interested in her 5. When he makes her feel secure and safe that he won't leave her and look for another woman

I pray we are all guided and Allah protects our marriage. And trust me when I say I have a smile for him, fulfil his every need, look good for him and want to spend time with him. Brother, respectfully, the references no where mention they lived together under one roof. That is your personal interpretation of them. The first part simply talks about sharing some chores. That doesnt mean they live together. It could be more effecient that way and distributed among both houses later. The second is about gifting a suit which is then divided into pieces for all the ladies. Again does not prove them all living together. I have also never once seen these brought up in support of living together with inlaws in islamic fatwas or fiqh which is longstanding. It would be strange that the 1400 years of ihma'ah has somehow missed out on these references and forgotten to include them in their works and rulings. According to the authentic hadith collections like Bukhari, Muslim, Trimizi etc Ali was mainly raised by the prophet and his first wife and lived with them. Also we know that Fatima and Ali lived in a single room house. That is why, when one night the prophet came by, he did not step inside so to not interrupt Ali and Fatima being intimate or undressed etc but instead made them aware that he was outside waiting. Outside. It would be highly strange for ones bedroom to open put into the street unless that was the bedroom was the entire house. When Ali was due to marry Fatima, we know his home consisted of one room which was then decorated with the dowry the women had bought for him with Ali's money. The prophet had many daughters, and they all lived separately including Fatima. It's important to distinguish between culture and Deen instead of trying to fit cultural norms into Islam, even if unwittingly.

    I think u have answered everything.. Although it is obligatory for a women to be married some have circumstances that don’t allow us to be married as you said kids come first these days it’s very hard to let a man in when you have adults esp girls in your household. These circumstances make it extremely hard to have a public Marriage. As for social media this is 💯wrong. May Allah swt guide us all.

  • @Sas-rf9sy

    @Sas-rf9sy

    Marriage is not obligatory in islam. It is recommended and Sunnah. That said if you have kids, you can always remarry with a man who also has kids. Similar circumstances can alleviate some of the issues you speak of. I know this is an issue particular to you sisters but you can still be a good parent while also having your own companion.If Allah wills it, don't deny yourself his blessings. But I understand your predicament and my advice is to always be vigilant and guard your children with hawks eye. May Allah make it easy for you.
