There used to be many, many FM radio stations that had this music going 24/7. But the powers that be in the 90’s declared it “dead”. No wonder it sounds great now.

This is what I live for, growing up in southern NH, I could hear Boston Radio stations. We had 8 FM stations in the late seventies in the area that played this. The one most people remember was WJIB, 96.9 FM!

Among the most popular artists in the late sixties were Herp Albert , there were a lot of copy cats, one that copied Herp Albert was a group called the Brass Ring, which was at the start of the tape! I'm Getting Sentimental Over You, the fourth track was a Herp Albert single and a Big Hit!

The first two songs are very similar to Herb Alpert's sound, but there are some small differences.

There were several “soundalike” units going at the same time to cash in, like the “Guadalajara Brass” and such. They were usually on budget albums at the time.

I'm thinking this tape belonged to one of those FM stations in the seventies! What would happen is the DJ would do the CALLS at the top and bottom of the hour ( FCC Requirements) and then roll the tape. Songs were seldom if ever BACK SOLD so good luck if you liked a song finding out who the artist was. If You called the beautiful music station, the y wouldn't know!

Some great music in there minus some tape print through and the honkytonk style piano from 1:08:48 - 1:24:33.

Print through, occasional bits of wow & flutter, any tape artifacts - all part of the magic of this channel as far as I'm concerned. Reminds me of how I first heard music, in all its analogue imperfections

@@alanburns538 I used open reel decks for almost 40 years and didn't have those problems. Guess I was lucky
