Have fond memories of AC in the '60s. Was a Philly kid, but lucky family had a summer place in Brigantine from '54 to today. Loved Captain Starn's off shore fishing and sightseeing boats as well as the raw bar and restaurant. Saw AC in it's fading glory days and then just it's fading days before the casinos brought it back to life in a completely different way. Hated to see the implosions of the old hotels. I attended my senior year in school there 68-69. Hope to get back there someday.

I saw, on the same day, Ray Charles, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, and "A Hard Day's Night" at Steel Pier!

Atlantic city died in the 1970s. Too bad so many of you never got to see it the way it was back in the 50s and 60s. Sadly, you have no idea what you have lost and will never be again.

The first half was AC, but the second was Wildwood

I was b'71. From 1981-83 my dad worked @ Resorts International. I spent my summers/spring break in AC during those years, which were among the most fun/memorable of my life. I can't seem to find any video, articles, or even a single picture of AC during the early 80's. Do you happen to have any, or know of anything online? I've looked everywhere without luck. It is a very nostalgic era for me. I wish I could find anything.

It's crazy how all of the rides at Steel Pier that they had in the late 60's are a million times better then the shitty rides they have now!
