HOME IN PASADENA | Stephanie Trick & Paolo Alderighi

Музыка

“Home in Pasadena” was written by Harry Warren, Grant Clarke and Edgar Leslie and published in 1923. Harry Warren, one of the important American songwriters, had just gotten his start in the music business by publishing his first song, “Rose of the Rio Grande.” The nostalgic lyrics talk about traveling to Pasadena by train, “where the honeybees hum melodies and orange trees scent the breeze.”
This was the song that inspired the name of the Pasadena Roof Orchestra.

Dear KZread Friends, greetings from Northern California! Today we are playing in Sacramento at the Hot Jazz Jubilee and tomorrow we’ll be in Walnut Creek. Always a pleasure to play in California and see many friends here! Here is a nice tune written by the great Harry Warren about a city in Southern California. Have you ever been to Pasadena? Happy Sunday and wishing you a good Labor Day!

Stephanie and Paolo, you arranged and played that tune really beautifully!! I was a kid when my Nan bought a version of that song played by the Temperance Seven in the 60s. She used to play the record all the time! I haven’t heard it for years. Thank you triggering the memories with your wonderful version.😊

Wow! Just found you two. Great old music some I never thought I'd hear again. My Dad was a big band leader and piano player in the 30s and 40s. I grew up on this music. Thank you for keeping it alive! 👏👏👏

Another pure delight. I used to live in Pasadena in the 80's and 90's. It was probably a lot more pleasant in 1923!

I wonder if the version used on the Ampico pianola roll is available in sheet music. It is an amazing arrangement with spectacular arpeggios. Highly recommend it.

Hello, please don't be mad at me for sending you some musical suggestions. It turns out that I admire them so much that sometimes I imagine the blessed duo exuberantly playing some beautiful song. Today, with all due respect, I take the liberty of suggesting to you the delicious: "Silenzioso Slow" (Abassa la Tua Radio) great success in the voice of Norma Bruni. Thanks. Always have: health, peace, joy and much, much success!
