CIRIBIRIBIN | Stephanie Trick & Paolo Alderighi
Музыка
“Ciribiribin” was the theme song of trumpeter and bandleader Harry James, one of the stars of the big band era. James got his start with Ben Pollack, and then moved on to become a featured player in Benny Goodman’s band, soloing on tunes like “Sing, Sing, Sing,” “One O’Clock Jump,” and “Ridin’ High.” He started his own big band in 1939 and the band was a huge commercial success - notably, Columbia Records went into a shellac fame as it wasn’t able to keep up with the demand for Harry’s records.
Harry was also the first major big band to hire the young rising star, Frank Sinatra, and Frank continued to call Harry “boss” for the rest of his life…
The song, “You Made Me Love You," was a big hit for Harry's band, as well as songs that coincided with the national mood during the dark years of World War II, including “I’ll Get By” and “I Don’t Want to Walk Without You."
“Ciribiribin” is an Italian folk song, originally written in 1898 as a waltz, and Harry James and Jack Lawrence transformed it into the swinging 4/4 version that became the ideal vehicle for Harry’s virtuosic and melodic playing.

Lovely. I'm sure Harry James would think so as well.
Vous m’épaterez toujours. Je vous souhaite une excellente journée 😍
How sweet a start and how swinging the continuation! Thank you for again making a Sunday afternoon the easiest and most relaxed section of my week.
11 years ago was my first introduction to Stephanie's talent when she performed at a small college in Bolivar, MO, USA. I signed up for her email updates after that concert. Subsequently, I've followed her world-wide performances through various youTube channels . Eventually, she and Paolo married and now THEIR combined talents, with show dates are listed in their monthly newsletter. So the AUGUST 2023 newsletter listed Rustin, LA! And just a five hour drive from the Dallas metroplex! Moral to the story is: subscribe to THEIR updates. Thanks for making my (BFF) wife of 51 years and my 'weekend date' so enjoyable. We always look forward to enjoying y'all's talents!

Charming and melodious theme and very nice mastery of your playing, thanks👋🎹

I love You, Stephanie, so much!
Thank you for revivifying these fabulous old toons - such fine curation and joyful, respectful celebration in your performances. Love Stephanie's silvery twinkling up at the shallow end 😄

Love it .. piano from Renato Carosone. 😊❤🎉
A most Cheery-biribin ! 😀
So beautiful. Thank you.
Grandiose ! Merci pour ce magnifique partage. 🤩😍
That was a surprise. I thought that it was another mellow slow number (like last week) and then suddenly it awoke and started galloping along. You two do seem to really enjoy your duos (which since this is your day job, is probably just as well) 😀 Seriously though, it must be wonderful to earn your living doing something that you both love. Hope you come to the UK soon!
Paolo's move when he stole Stephanie's note cracked me up. Your choreography is so much fun.
That was absolutely great!!!
Wooooooooooh Trop bien 🙂!!!
Really liked the call and response format bookshelfing your explorations in different techniques with four hand (or was that three hand with the great walking bass?). As soon as you began the tune it sounded familiar but in no way did I equate it with Harry James (your historical liner notes really add to the whole experience). Gotta love the piano for it's ability sound like an orchestra (especially with two pairs of hands).
Harry James would have said, "Incredible!"
