HEY DUDE ! Yes same tune but these words were penned to the UK national anthem in 1831. I sang this at every school assembly in elementary school, and also at every Cub Scout & Boy Scout meeting and a few times with the youth choir at Church. Yes it's one of our most beloved patriotic songs.

While I appreciate and enjoy other reactors of Home Free who break down all of their technical aspects, I love your pure, unadulterated enjoyment of this group. They are my favorite out of all the A Capella groups, masters of their craft, and superb live. They have so many good tracks both serious and hysterical. I love that during the lockdowns they continued creating video content for us and it’s great to see them back on the road. Cover Me Up and I Can’t Outrun You are two beautiful tracks with Chance on lead. You can’t go wrong with their cover of Castle On the Hill or Helplessly Hoping, and my fav of all time is Mayday. I’m sure you’ve been advised to hold off on the latter however until you are comfortable with who everyone is in the group and their “normal” 😉 roles. Great channel! Looking forward to more reactions of the boys!

As Arlene mentioned, this is an old American patriotic song; to the music Britons know of as "God Save the Queen". When Diana Spencer married Prince Charles my friend, his English wife, and I drove from Claremont, CA. to Reseda, CA. where we met my friend's wife's Kenyan born English friend; to view the broadcast live. Naturally as the two Brits began to sing "God Save the Queen," my friend and I - the true Americans that we are - stood up to sing "My Country tis of Thee". That infamously became no-nookie night.* What we do for our country. 🤛 * Nookie: coitus, consummation of a relationship, procreation; gettin' Down!!!

It was considered the "unofficial" national anthem until 1931 when "The Star Spangled Banner was officially adopted as our national anthem. It's sometimes confusing due to it's popularity and being performed so much as a highly regarded patriotic song for over a century prior to the official anthem. The patriotic song has never lost it's spot of being ever popular still comparable to the official anthem of The Star Spangled Banner.

The National Anthem has been the national anthem of a ridiculous number of countries, including not only about fifty members of the Commonwealth but also Sweden, Iceland, Greece, the kingdoms of Prussia, Hanover, Bavaria, Saxony, and Hawaii, and the Principality of Liechtenstein. It even did a gig as "God Save the Tsar" ( from 1833 to 1917. I have sometimes thought that Olympic Games awards ceremonies would have been a bit simpler back then, when only the French and the German Empire had their own national anthems.

Time to do some Christmas music! May I suggest "Do You Hear What I Hear?" arranged by Adam Rupp, "Children, Go Where I Send Thee" with Kenny Rogers, and "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" with Jeffrey East and the Oak Ridge Boys for serious songs, and "Full of Cheer" written by Tim Foust, "Cold Hard Cash for Christmas" written by Austin Brown, and the classic "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" for more humorous songs. There are bunches of others, but I'll stop there.

Please react to a collaboration between Home Free's Tim Foust and fellow Acapella singer Peter Hollens. The song is " Misty Mountains", a cover of a song in the Hobbit movie of Lord Of The Rings. Tim really brings the bass on this. Peter does the higher notes and layers his voice over 120 times for a choir effect. I think you'll love it.

No, not the national anthem (Star Spangled Banner) but it’s the same tune as God Save the Queen. It was penned after the war of 1812 and I think a little slap to the Brits. We used to sing it in schools but it’s not sung as much anymore. This was filmed in South Dakota and was really beautiful. You have a nice voice and probably could join them for a song! They have wonderful harmonies. Good reaction Adam!

Wonderful tune we shall no doubt hear on the 4TH of July - our INDEPENDENCE DAY celebration ! Good fortune, God bless, God Bless America! GBjj
