This song is done in a country reggae beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim Foust & Avi Kaplan. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" that Home Free won in 2013 Tim goes even lower on this song "Ring Of Fire" & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam Rupp once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.

Debbie congrats. You have now added the 3rd group of the trifecta of our A Cappella world. That would be: PTX, VoicePlay and Home Free. One of the things that we have compared them to is in the setting of high school. PTX is considered the student body, VoicePlay is our theater and creative arts kids and Home Free are that group of kids that enjoys just hang out and having fun. All three groups are amazing, and all have a different style. That gives us a very deep and phenomenal rabbit hole of music to explore.

Misty mountains with Peter Hollens featuring Tim Foust (the Bass from Home Free) is a must watch if you want more loowwww notes! Also another fun one to watch from Pentatonix I suggest 'Come Along', and 'My Favorite Things'! Home Free won the Sing Off competition the season after Pentatonix won (season 3 and 4 respectively) and the two groups are really friendly with each other.

You see that smile on your face? Well, you can expect it to be there with practically every Home Free video. They can make you laugh or cry with their voices. And they are so entertaining with their sense of humor. I think for me, other than their amazing voices, it is their humor that makes me love them. They don't take themselves too seriously but the song never suffers. They just make my heart smile!

Most often, the two most popular introductions to Home Free are Ring of Fire and Man of Constant Sorrow. I'd recommend that one next, but I'm kind of afraid for your health if you actually watch it - it's got at least as many "what are they doing now?" moments as this song does!

Great fun reaction! Now you should react to Home Free's song video called "Champagne Tastes on a Beer Budget"! That was the next tease song that you saw after "The Ring of Fire" was over. This is not a cover song! This is a song written by Home Free's Bass singer Tim Foust! The video is HILARIOUS and there is a surprise at the end of the video wink!

OK Debbie, at the risk of encouraging you, I've got an idea. You're so blown away by Pentatonix and now Home Free (and soon VoicePlay) that you pause your reactions a LOT. This is understandable, but I've got an idea that might help soften the blow. When you pause in the middle of a song, it grinds the whole train to a halt and we lose momentum. Then you rewind it back a whole second or two. That might not be enough time for us to recover. For example, the first time you paused it, I believe it would have been a lot less disruptive (yes, DISRUPTIVE... please keep that in mind!) if you'd simply started the song over again from the beginning. That way, we're given TWO treats. First: it's you losing your flipping mind, which we absolutely love. But then the second treat is for us to listen to 20-30 seconds of uninterrupted reaction, and remember, we can still see your expressions! It's the best of both worlds. It's all about momentum. If you give us more time to regain momentum after pausing... like going back 7-10 seconds instead of 2-3 seconds, it might not be quite as jarring AND it still lets us see you freak-out, which is just the best! :) Anyway, I get the feeling that it isn't the pausing...it's the recovery time. We need more time to recover from your freakouts because they're THAT good.

The really low note at the end was done by Home Free's bass, Tim Foust, who was the guy with the long dark hair. Tim has a five octave range so he can sing tenor, baritone, and bass. He is originally from Texas. The guy with the extremely high tenor is Austin Brown originally from Georgia. He, as well as Tim, lives in Nashville. The beat boxer is Adam Rupp. Adam is an extraordinary beat boxer, one of the best in the world. He and his older brother, Chris, with Adam's best friend Matt Atwood founded Home Free in 2001. Adam and Matt were just teenagers. They are originally from Minnesota and still all live there.Matt retired years later to take over his family's business and to start his own family. His position was filled by Austin. Another person in the group from Minnesota who also still lives there is Robb Lundquist, the guy with glasses and beard. He is the lead tenor and outside of the Rupp brothers i and probably Matt has been the longest member of Home Free. The guy in the cowboy hat is Chris Rupp, Adam's brother. He sings baritone. He was part of the group during The Sing-Off. He later resigned from the group in 2016 to do his own projects. His position was filled by Adam Chance who is called Chance to avoid confusion. Chance lives in LA, but is originally from Alabama. Chance to not in this video. . This is an earlier video soon after Home Free won season four of The Sing-Off, on acapella competition show. The Pentatonix had won the competition during season three. The two groups met during the season four finale when Pentatonix was the guest performers as season three winners. The newer House Free videos have Chance instead of Chris. The great thing about Home Free is it's sense of community. The guys enjoy being with each other and singing together. There is no lead singer. They have the person with the best voice for the song lead. They have connections with former Home Free members, with other acapella groups, and other musicians from world famous to lesser known. They are respectful and humble about their fans . They donate their talents and time to support various causes from veterans to anti-bullying. They are down to earth guys who sing all genres and can make you tear up, laugh, or have goosebumps.

Home Free introduced this version of Ring of Fire when they were on the Sing Off, and it is still part of their concert set list. Home Free has fantastic harmonies, they cover probably 6 octaves (can Austin go a full octave above Tim? Adam probably can) and do it well. They have over 160 official videos that cover everything from hilarious to somber, sacred to profane, romantic, patriotic, country, 50s, rock, pop....

Peter Hollens feat. Home Free singing Amazing Grace is a wonderful performance. Die a Happy Man features (as lead singer) their new at the time member of (Adam) Chance. Chance replaced Chris R. (baseball cap wearing man in this video.) The most beautiful performance of this song (and pretty much any song) that I have ever heard is their version of How Great Thou Art. And in this one you even get to hear Adam R. (vocal percussion/beatboxer/brother of Chris R.) sing. I’m sure you don’t really need any pointers from me on which to watch (as I’m sure the other Home Fries have it covered) but, if you do, here’s some.

I'm definitely more on the pentaholic side of this equation but I do love the home free version of "man of constant sorrow" or "don't laugh at me".

I've seen your more recent Home Free reactions, but this is my first time seeing your first reaction. I really enjoyed that. I hope you will do more soon. Maybe the last two chapters of their Startgazer Trilogy?

If you like Avi's bass singing voice you should hear him do his new song, " When I'm A Fool". He's with his band playing an acoustic guitar and singing. One of my faves from him. Thanks!

Absolutely! I have never seen so many happy, smiling musicians as I do on that video. And it makes me dance, too.

This group will shoot your subscribers up, they are the best. I saw them live not long ago and they pulled a fast on with this song. They just did the intro and went right into Never Gonna Give You Up, then at the end of the show they finished it off.

You should definitely check out the video you saw previewed. It's "Champagne Taste (on a Beer Budget)" and it's an original written by the bass singer Tim Foust. He wrote it as a joke trying to be "as country as he could be". It was recorded and filmed the same week they did "Ring of Fire". Home Free has a sense of humor that just makes you love them more.

there is always room in the Home Free rabbit hole that is full of Home Fries(fans). Austin Brown lead tenor, Rob Rob Lundquist tenor, Adam Rupp beatboxer(one of the best in the world), Tim Foust bass, in this song Chris Rupp(no longer in group) replaced by Adam Chance.

Welcome to the Rabbit Hole of Home Free. Tim Foust the bass singer amazes me with how low he can go. Adam Rupp their beatboxer can do amazing things. Check out their cover of Unchained Melody and Brothers in Arms. I just recently saw them live in concert.. if you get a chance GO. They are even better live.

You should hear what they did to the old John Denver song Country Roads Take Me Home. It's rare I like a cover of that because it was sung so much by my grandma and grandpa, and I adored it. Also When Will I Be Loved that old Everly bros /Linda Ronstadt song. Took it a completely different direction than I thought and they are gonna have a doosey that drops this Friday. It is really funny. ( I'm a patron :) I see beforehand, but I will be careful not to spoil anything! ) I love their willingness to be silly, it just makes them that much more relatable for me, and it never fails, that they find the few mainstream pop songs I end up liking, and do it as well or better than the original. Have a good day! XOXO

I just came across your channel and while watching your Ring of Fire reaction I couldn't even see the video. I could hear it but not see it. might want to look into that. As in some sort of dark background.
