Even though this isn't the greatest recording, you still get a feel of how talented these guys are. Love seeing all of them beatboxing. And Tim's bass is so low. Gives you an idea what it would be like to be there & hear it live. Now you have to take a look at their original video of this. It is a lot of fun.

I had seen them doing the beat-box thing in some of their other videos, but this is the first time I saw them all participate. In their collaboration with Kenny Rogers on 'Children Go Where I Send Thee' several times you can hear Austin do a guitar and Tim do a double bass etc, but it is just short snippets not an entire song. In 'Man of Constant Sorrow' Chance and Rob contribute, Rob with the DJ scratch and Chance with the mouth harp for the beginning and the close of the song. This was a happy surprise to me. They truly have it all. Your reactions were on point and the points you backed it up were spot on. Things were happening so fast, I heard what they we doing, but backing up let me comprehend what I was listening to, very helpful. You also might want to put 'Brothers in Arms' on your list. Very deep and leaves you thinking, but the harmonies, the harmonies are next level hauntingly beautiful. Again they will engulf you in the in the lyrics and take you on a journey that will be hard to forget.

In a Q&A Tim did not long ago someone asked him what the minimum bid for a backyard bash was and he said, with a few exceptions where they're already in the area or driving through, that they just can't do one for cheaper than $4000 minimum -- more if you want to get Austin or Adam, which seems ridiculous till you consider that's wear and tear on equipment and transportation, meals, hotel rooms, and pay for multiple people.

Great reaction boys! Love the beatboxing. Austin can also do a harmonica and bullfrog noise (although maybe that’s what he was doing here). There’s one recorded in St. Andrews Scotland (2016- by Kim Ball). The recording is closer to them and the sound is great. You can skip to the middle of the song if you want but the whole concert is really good. Rob is the guy you like (the lead here. Chris Rupp (with ball cap) is Adam’s brother. He’s in the earlier videos and the Rupp brothers started Home Free. Chris left in 2016 to go solo. So much fun watching you!!! 😀

And I've been to six live shows and yes, they are just this good all the time! And this song brings the audience to screaming and going nuts. It's incredible to be there. And also, even when you are there and watching you sometimes have to shake your head and remember there are no instruments. Do everything you can to watch for them to come where you can go. We are always ready to see them again as we're leaving the auditorium for a show! They are super funny, mostly Tim and Austin do the funniest bits, but they are so great all of them together on stage. It's a full stand-up comedy and music talent show!!! There are actually 3 versions of Home Free doing 9 to5. The first is the actual video, the five guys in an office setting, following the original Dolly Parton song in the movie, with no beatboxing breakdown. This one is the 2nd, a live stage concert version from 2015. The third is from 2016 with Adam Chance in place of Chris Rupp (in the cap). It sounds just as great as this one but the visuals, in my opinion, are inferior to this one. First, taking place at a different venue, the stage and lighting setup isn't as good. They aren't backlit like they are here during the "beatbox battle." Second, I'm told this is the first live show Chance did with the guy after joining Home Free and to me his movements seemed a bit hesitant, like he isn't that comfortable yet moving with his new group. I felt the same way when watching him with Street Corner Symphony in Season 2 of the Sing-Off in 2010 I certainly don't see that now. Check the boys out in their latest video "Brother."

All of them have some very basic beatboxing training for those occasions where Adam is doing something else or they need to double the beatboxing and not use a looper. Older example would be "Guilty Pleasures" (if y'all are going to watch it, find one that *isn't* the "hilariously derailed" version where they literally miss the final punch line). During Adam's guilty pleasure (Gangnam Style -- the man learned the dance moves and the Korean lyrics for it), Rob is beatboxing. In The Butts Remix Tim beatboxes during Baby Got Back because Adam is doing record scratch stuff. There's a recording of them doing Little Saint Nick live where Adam sings a verse. I seem to recall Chance takes over the beatboxing, but I might be misremembering. It's obviously been rehearsed, but I still love how Adam is just directing the other guys in their beatboxing, then comes in with the coup de grace.

The 4 vocalists can do some basic beat boxing , and that's pretty cool, but none of them are even near the level Adam Rupp is. This only serves to make it appear that Adam's skills aren't as impressive as they truly are. "They all beat box" is so misleading. I really hate it when that's the first comment to come up after someone comments on how awesome Adam's skills are. That's like saying Adam can belt out a song like Austin. He will be the first one to tell you, he can't. The other guys beat box. Adam Rupp BEAT BOXES.
