I know :( I could tell from the first reveal video that he really was thinking how much he could help people with the money instead. Did you think that too? I really believe he would have rather done some minimal fixes for his travel trailer and then helped people with the rest. I would not have been offended if it had gone that direction. When you give to someone it's theirs. Age has a way of creeping up on us though and although Hans looks fit and healthy, one day he will not be able to build a roof or live under the conditions he just came from. I see it as being set up for future retirement, lol. In addition, if we truly are in a grand solar minimum, he would have died in that trailer.

I was trying hard not to cry during the video, but when he said, ' Honey, I'm home!', I almost lost it! This brings back memories of when I was 62, living in a truck with my bf, waiting for my disability case to settle. It was in November, also, about 9 yrs ago. We were in a Walmart, shopping for what we could afford for family Christmas presents, when I checked my bank balance. Social security had paid all the retroactive they owed! Enough for a small trailer, plus a new start. We got to do crazy shopping that day, running around for all the things we would need! That feeling was amazing and unreal. I know just how Hans must be feeling. Love and best wishes to you, Alex and family, and everyone who brought this dream to life. And especially to Hans, who deserves this so much for all he does for others. 💓🥰😘 Btw: my birthday is next week, 72, and I will be Thankful for knowing all of you beautiful people thru this wonderful site.❣️👏👏🤝👌

OMG I certainly enjoyed watching that watched all the other adventurous start to finish the Potter House the musicians house and other assorted videos and then I came across this one. So heartwarming I didn't come across this channel until recently I wish I could have been a part of making Hans dream come true

I'm watching this a year later and my heart is exploding with how much love I have for Hans. He fought tears and as soon as he said his thanks at the end and started crying my tears started as well. Thank you for all that you do for him and he is more than deserving. Lots of love from Ontario! 🥰

I'm a 64 year old man, but I gotta tell ya... By the end of this, I had tears rolling down my face for almost 5 minutes. Best to you Hans. You're a good man. And Alex... You're the best buddy!

At one point, I think even Hans had some tears rolling. It is amazing that so many people have come together tho help this great guy, Hans, out the way they have.

Even shopping for himself he thought of the roof for the lady he's helping. Hans is undoubtedly the true spirit of Christmas.

The folks that sent Hans donations are beautiful people. When you give of yourself and help others, it comes back in two-fold. We need each other. This makes me ever so happy. Enjoy your news home Hans! You are a beautiful soul!

Truly a blessing not just for him but for EVERYONE who participated in this!

Seeing Hans sitting at his table and chair with his friends, talking, laughing, and having a good time, it's obvious he's at home, settling in, accepting it's all his, and now he can invite who he wants to come in and have a social life of true happiness. Friendships.

Wow. I rewatched this, Hans has dark circles and looks about 20 years older than he does now (12-2020). It shows how beat down not having adequate shelter, utilities and other basic necessities make you. I'm so glad he's safe, warm and in a happy relationship now. No one should be homeless or without.

Me too! HE reminds me of a few of my UNCLES! I grew up very close to them, but grew up and moved away, I miss them.

To Hans, part of being a giver, is giving the opportunity for others to give as well. So simply accept others love, respect, and appreciation for what it is, and don't overthink it. To the rest of you. God bless your generosity!

@@thenextcountry LOL! that hoodie is from the late 1980's and my Mom had bought it for my boyfriend (husband since 1990!!!) I'm an ebay seller and I held on to it for the good memories, since Darren just wore that thing like crazy. My Mom swore that it came from Aunt Toots in Marmora Ontario Canada and that we were related to the amazing late Greg Terrion of the Maple Leafs. I had finally listed it on ebay but when I saw Alex's story about Hans, I knew that I wanted him to have it. Darren agreed (and BTW so amazed at the old Cadillac story since he's car guy too!) so we mailed it off. Happy that he likes it and I knew it would fit him (as my hubby Darren was 155 lbs in his 20's)but wow, what a great fit!! Just loved seeing all the beautiful things everyone has sent him.

i know this feeling. greatfull.....I was homeless was able to get a place to live from the generosity of my ex husband. my church family got me all the content of my home. will be going back to college in january 2021

I have done things like this for people in the past and the only things they had to pay for was the materials and ... feed me while I am working if I work over lunch or over supper. I am not talking about taking me to a fancy expensive restaurant either, it could just have been a simple lunch meat sandwich or some spaghetti or even some leftovers. I only asked for the food because of being diabetic and not wanting to suffer from the effects of low blood sugars. I am in south central PA here.

As a ex homeless kid who would get cleaned by sneaking into peoples pools in the summer hot tubs in the winter, sleep I abandoned cars back of stores in newspaper bins etc and ate the 7-11 throw aways at the end of the shift this whole situation with Hans made me so so happy.. I too met people who helped me as a kid / teenager and it made all the difference for me even today 30 years later. Congratulations Hans

Tearing up wish I could afford to get my dad a house he always wanted before he passed away 1 year & 7 months ago. Good to see there are still caring folks out there.

Think about this -- Maybe Hans IS normal, and the rest of us have a screw loose [lol]

I remember Alex in a video a while back talking about living in tough circumstances when he was young, and I imagine this is what made him sensitive to Hans' situation, in a time when people are starting to lose the knack of noticing each other, or offering help and service. So many thanks to Alex for seeing this need, and not only organizing the efforts for doing something meaningful about it, but giving so much of his own time and resources as well. And you could tell by the look on Hans' face and the swell of pride that all the mentions of his Viking heritage brought out in him, as he was trying to process all this abundance coming his way after so long a dry spell, was really on point, and the perfect way to build him up, as if he went from feeling like who knows what, to feeling like a proper Viking of old. Hans buddy, you deserve it! And Alex, you really are a good guy, aren't you? Superb story, much needed these days!

Hans is no brat! He deserves all the good will being shown towards him!

I need to hug Hans. He is a beautiful soul. He deserves to be blessed with kindness. I'm still wiping my tears of happiness from watching his reaction. Bless your heart ❤️

wow this hits home, cause I had to live in a shed for 5 years with no water or toilet before I got on ssdi then I had the amish build me a small cabin and put in a well and septic, its not much but at least I can take showers now.

I don't know you, and we will never meet, but YOU are a very good man. To come from your own background, and never forget what it felt like, when you see others who need help. The kindness and generosity shown to Hans, by strangers, truly warms the heart.

Can someone set Hans up with an Amazon wish list so we can gift him what he needs and wants. That way it is delivered to him.

Karen Burgess what about setting up a Walmart wish list? You can buy it online and have it shipped to his house. Including img dry goods, canned goods,etc. it’s probably cheaper anyway .

Hans is so sweet. Has to be a bit awkward & hard for him to be on the receiving end of all these generous gifts when he's usually the one doing the giving. He's so aww shucks cute & very dear about it all. Thank you Alex for bringing out the very best in so many. Feeling all the love ~ Best to All. Enjoy the new house, Hans!!

My husband loves to help people. We would give new heaters to poor people and they’d give them to others who needed it more.
