Final Clean out of a jam packed home! And some last minute surprises

Ойын-сауық

After weeks of hoard work we finally have this place empty! A truck load of goods to support the homeless in our home town, some treasures to cover the expense... and closure as we finish another clear out.

I had the hard chore of emptying out a house of an old friend that was in his final days and found it so hard to donate and sell the life of this friend. I admire your approach to honor the owner as much as possible.

@annvanwesten2488 - Way back when, before I first assisted in organizing and holding estate sales, I had the mindset of “this is what’s left of this man’s entire life. It’s so sad that we are cleaning, organizing and selling his life.” As the years passed and with many estate sales under my belt, I realized that I had the wrong mindset. The person who passed away had all these items during his lifetime. They meant something to him and he enjoyed them during his lifetime. They meant nothing to his heirs, and he couldn’t take them with him. All of those items could have been tossed in a dumpster and not loved and enjoyed by anyone else. The deceased would be pleased to know that the items sold at the estate sale are loved by their new owners. The items that don’t sell at the estate sale are donated to the charity of the family’s choice.

I think what's going to really differentiate your new streaming show from all the similar themed ones is your compassion. Caring about the lives of the people who have passed on, caring about their families, friends and neighbors who knew them, recycling and donating, even before any money is made on selling. I always enjoy watching the clean outs that Melissa and you do. Normally they leave me feeling somewhat sad for the people who died while you go thru their things. Seems so often like lives not fulfilled. Sometimes even a bit lonely. This clean not at all! This clean out has left me feeling smiling. This man has had such a full, amazing and awesome life that most of us can only dream about. The places he's been and things he's done are wonderful. He's lived his life to the fullest. Good for him. Couldn't help but think about this man the whole way through each episode. At a certain point I was moved to tears. He lived a life of abundance and that was quite evident by the amazing contents of his home. It saddens me though that the person who inherited his condo didn't want the contents as she didn't need any of it, I mean I understand that, but not even a memory of him of somekind apart from the Condo, whether it was the coin collection, a Jersey, the lamps, a painting..kinda like no not interested just want to sell the place and thankyou very much kinda thing. All I can truly say is you and your family dealt with his life with such compassion and respect it kept me strong whilst watching this. You did such a great job. 👍

You seem like a really genuinely nice guy, and it shows that when your beautiful wife looks at you, she really loves you.

Those final walk throughs are always sad. All those items that were someone's life are now scattered and gone. Hopefully your series can keep that emotional touch that you do so naturally and so well.

That was very interesting series. Such a packed with stuff house. I have had a house almost as full till I moved last year and pared everything down especially the books. I had four average size bookshelves full of books. Cut down to one bookshelf and one storage box. Plus I'm a quilter and I have more fabric than books. So I can consider this series as a warning to not leave a mess for others when I move on.
