I've got that butterfly bowl, mine has held fruit, fruit salad, even ice on my deck bar cart. Right now it holds bead necklaces and bangles on my dresser. I've had it 30 yrs... wedding gift. Husband is gone, but my lovely bowl remains. Hope you enjoy yours. Also, I'm so glad you went back for the sailboat... I love the two you have. Love, love, love... I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay, my Dad had boats... I collect them too. 🙂 ⛵⛵⛵ 🙂

Hi Annette! It’s funny you should mention having received the bowl as a wedding gift. I nonchalantly shared with my Aunt that I found this bowl for $4 and she said she received one as a gift years back too and still had it to this day. Glad to hear they are durable and can withstand the test of time 🙌🏼 I bet growing up on the bay was a dream! Thank you for watching, my friend

I was so surprised to find so much joy in such a simple decorative accessory but it has really comes in handy 🙌🏼 I have a lot of marble surfaces and I always worry that a candle may heat up and discolor the surface so this glass plate has totally taken that worry away!

I really like how you point out your finds with a look-alike photo with the original price. Very fun!

I’m happy to hear it, Shari! I like to include that detail to show how substantial the savings is or what other items that are similar in the market will cost. Thrifting was never on my radar, for the longest time i though, just like most, that thrift stores were full of others “junk.” But now that I’ve gained an appreciation for it and have such success sourcing beautiful finds, I’m trying to actively share and break the stigma that make surround these types of second hand stores ☺️ thank you for watching!

I’m so happy to hear it, Robin! I love this Nambé bowl...it was definitely a find that I would have never expected to find in a thrift store, much less for only $4. I’ve heard others share they’ve had theirs for 30+ years, my Aunt included, so I know they stand the test of time 🙌🏼 spray paint is one of my go-to’s, I’m really doing my best to remove the negative stigma around it. When thrifting, I’ve found dozens of items I liked that were in the wrong color so I think it’s one of the easiest fixes! Also, the onyx candlestick holders and boat...I was too silly to pass on those the first time around, needless to say I was thrilled they were still there! Thank you for taking me along on another thrift hunt! You really have an eye for finding lovely things, perfect for your decorating style! I especially liked the sailboat - I couldn't understand why you had not bought it on first viewing! Glad you went back and it was still there! So lucky! I think, when you thrift, you have to go in with a positive attitude and with no pre-conceived idea of what you want - other than whatever you find should fit your design aesthetic and be at a price you feel is appropriate. I’m so glad you enjoyed this weekend’s venture 🤗 When filming, at times I find I’m less focused on placing the items in my space (mentally) as I would if it were a leisurely stroll so I’m not as quick to take the plunge on all the pieces I spotlight. I’m trying to navigate this as I realize I show such incredible pieces at times that I’m foolish to leave behind 🙈 I couldn’t agree with you more-every thrift outing is always a surprise! I loved the brass candleholders. I used to have a complete set of the black octagon dishes back in the 80’s. Long gone but for some reason I still have the black ashtray which I now leave in the garage for visitors who need to smoke.

Thank you, Sandie! This is really a beautiful compliment. I’m trying to break the mold - for the longest time I believed in order to have a beautiful home things must be new, expensive, or designer. But this couldn’t be further from the truth! Most of the best (and my favorite) items that I have in my home were either thrifted, bought off of Facebook Marketplace, or apps like OfferUp! My goal is to share this with others in hopes of opening minds to what treasures can be found in the second hand market. I appreciate you learning with me 😁

Hi Beau. More great finds ! The inner dialog can be tough when you pass on something, but guys.....don't beat yourself up too much. I think a lot of people do end up passing on an item because it seems to not be in pristine condition, but we can see here, Beau, that you obviously gave these items a good clean and buff, and they look perfect. The female torso figure is superb. Be well.

Thank you, Gregory! It’s true, some items I pass on I realize I should have bought-but the difference lies in “wanting” a piece and actually having a place for it. The crystal bowl for instance, so stunning and a piece I would have loved to nab! But I have at least 8 others so was one more really necessary? 😅 I definitely disinfect, polish, and ready each piece for display! I had a viewer ask about that process so I may include that in a future outing! Glad you loved the female figure, my friend ☺️ always a pleasure!

So glad you went back for the onyx candle sticks, nothing beats finding a one-of-a-kind piece while thrifting/antiquing. I caught the bug a couple of years ago and now I have a massive collection of vintage glass and bar ware. I even have an Etsy shop to help pieces find a good home.

@@beaualexander7000 You bet! I watch a lot of reseller videos to learn more about the business, but almost all of them go for stuff that doesn't appeal to my target market. So I learn a lot but it doesn't always help when I want to style my product photos or when I'm out shopping for treasure. I can tell you all about Fenton glass because of those videos but I've never once wanted to ever sell it. I've already watched a few of your styling vids to help with my own bookshelf and photo set up! So really, thank you! I've been looking for your voice for awhile now.

You have a sixth sense for thrift finds! Love seeing on Saturday mornings what you have unearthed from Goodwill etc! Great picks to take home, a little surprised the fluted crystal bowl dint make it home with you😉 Sad that I have to wait another week to see more!

I REALLY wanted that fluted crystal bowl, but I couldn’t justify it. I have quite a few others in my collection but just you wait...I may be going back to see if it’s still there later on in the day knowing me 😅 I’m glad you enjoyed this outing my friend and always so happy to know you’ve enjoyed my picks!

Yay, Lillian! I love the term “recovery” as you’ve used it in your comment because that is exactly what I feel I’ve done 😆 it was a recovery mission and my attempt at saving these items was successful...thankfully!

The Art Deco sailboat is beautiful! I also love the black vase with calla lilies in your background, very nice :)

Thank you my friend! I really appreciate the Art Deco aesthetic and I loved the lines in the retro-styled vase...it was actually clear glass but had discolored so I painted it in a matte black finish to give it a ceramic appearance and I just love it 🤗 glad you do, too!

Awesome review and I love all of your selected items. That large crystal bowl was absolutely beautiful too and I am sure you passed because you have enough crystals. Also, OMG those candle holders you went back to get gives me life everything they are on the scene. Fabulous!!! I definitely wanted that bowl, I still want it 😩 but I do have quite a few in my collection and as beautiful as it was I had to pass...though I’m sure I’ll regret this decision! Beau!!! Last week, I was screaming at you to pickup the two marble candle holders for only $25/set!!!! I'm glad that they were STILL there when you went back to the antique store!!!! I put "EVERYTHING" I like at "first glance" into the basket!!! Trying NOT to feel "distracted" or "overwhelmed" while shopping!! Then I sit down to look at every item to make sure that I want to buy it. I had to "let go" concerning the "two large marble horse heads" I forgot to buy!!!

I definitely try to do that when I’m out leisurely shopping but sometimes it’s a bit more chaotic when I’m filming...trying to get better at making those decisions in the moment 😆 thank you for watching my friend! Happy Sat Boau, Its like a Treasure Hunt! I use to have a black clock like that but it sat on a cradle, aww those Vases were pretty, Aww the Sail boat, mine was in Brass. Isn’t that the truth, Michele! With every outing I find myself more and more anxious to get back out there and see what treasures I can bring home 😆 trying to do all of this and not be featured in an upcoming episode of “Hoarders” as I can see that being a reality for me if I continue down this path. I’d better start sharing the wealth and resell!

I know that feeling when you leave something behind, and decide to go back and get it, my heart skips a beat when it’s still waiting for me. Love the new sailboat, and love your other sailboat too... 😀
