What would YOU use this in? A WLED Holiday Lights Controller Case maybe!!!

This is what I need it for is my WLED outside box. When and where can I get all the products and code? You are AMAZING!!!!

@@timothymason5545 Thank Tim. This was just the demo to see if anyone wanted a full tutorial. They did and you can find it here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h4Vqqdulks6ecaw.html
Perfect timing! I was just searching for this exact setup a couple of days ago for a project that I'm building. I can't wait for the full tutorial

Ah cool, Glad I could help! I'm hoping to get the tutorial 'public' next week... My Patreons have to see it first.
looking forward for the details !

I'm hoping to get it all done next week.
Very cool! I just got a used Poweredge T440 from work and wanted to add in pwm fans controlled by temp on the cpus. I haven't dug into ESP home but I'll be curious to see more about it and how I can incorporate that into my homelab.

Nice application... although I'm surprised those severs don't speed ramp their fans from the Bios.
Perfect timing in the middle of doing this with a h Bridge but struggling with the code in esp home to vari the speed (I'm not a coder) may re build the control on your setup 😊

Great to hear! haven't tried an H-Bridge yet ( I do have a project in mind thou) However, for speed control, I'd try and PWM the control to that too.
I am working on a pcb for something similar, it will just control two fans in the top of my network cabinet, and have two sensors where I do an average between them.

@@3ATIVE Mine will sit between the two fans, so I will have mounting holes at the same position as the bottom of the fans, and radius to match the fan size. I will then have the temperature sensors stick out into the airflow. I actually only got stuck when I tried to decide how to power it... external 12v power brick, mains to 12v power supply on the pcb, or go fancy and do poe, without actually using ethernet...

@@mikeydk Coolio - Have you Put a D1 Mini in it?

@@3ATIVE No, I am going to just put the chip itself on along with the components needed to make it run. I haven't decided yet if I am going with an ESP8266 or ESP32.
just what I needed for a battery box project how many fans can one esp control individually ?
@3ATIVE

Cool (LOL) The fans are powered directly from the Supply. The only thing the ESP is doing is outputting a PWM signal, so in theory.... an unlimited number of fans :)

@@3ATIVE the project has 4 zones so will need 4 Dallas and 4 PWM So guess I'll need 1 gpio for the daisy chained Dallas and 4 PWM
i like how the temperature took so long to go down lol

Looking for the same thing. Currently doing exactly the same, but in node-red. Would be more efficient to have the logic on-device

Yeah cool... I do like to put as much on these ESP chips as possible. That way even with bad Wi-Fi it'll still control the fan.

@@srenelisiussen581 I haven't for this one but a PID controller is something I'm working on (for another project) When I get my head around it, I'll put out a vid. :)
I did few of them to all my Raspberry Pis and Power Supplies I have ;-) But I also exposed Kp, Ki and Kd to Home Assistant

Cool. The ones you made, were they based on this tutorial?
@zyghom
Жыл бұрын
@@3ATIVE no, I did them kind of year ago, researching here and there. But my Kx settings keep the temperature + - 0.5C to whatever number I set as a target. Up to the point fans can do of course. In my power supply I have two 12cm Noctua PWM fans - they are super crazy efficient but when I "apply" 10A load (and the power supply is linear) - you know ;-) I also measure humidity inside the power supply

@@zyghom I see.... so is HA controlling these fans based on the Pi sensors?
@zyghom
Жыл бұрын
@@3ATIVE not exactly, the control is inside ESP32, only the settings are exposed to HA so they can be changed remotely without reprogramming ESP32. Making the Power Supply controlled by HA would mean: if HA is down or the wifi, PS would... boil ;-)
