    Thank you for recognizing all that James does. The guy is not only a signer/songwriter, he's playing sometimes complicated riffs at high speeds while singing. Incredible musician who doesn't get enough praise because he's in a genre that is deemed lesser.

  • @Grigeral

    @Grigeral

    3 жыл бұрын

    I wouldn't say he's underpraised because the genre is deemed lesser. Metallica are absolutely huge and they have been for the past 20 years. To the point they are even known outside of the metal genre, which speaks volumes. The thing is, while it's impressive yes, there comes a point in learning an instrument where you are able to do the basics without thinking about it. That's the point you 'have' to be at in order to sing while you play. And if you can do it, it won't matter how fast you need to play it because you're already able to do it. Not saying this to downplay him as a musician though, don't get me wrong. There is no doubt in my mind he knows his way around a guitar like the best of them, but thrash metal especially, is filled with singers who play instruments while also doing vocals, which is why it's often not really picked up on.
