I think that Israel not having any oil is a blessing in disguise since it meant that the country had to diversify its economy instead of relying on oil like Saudi Arabia. The UAE is also forward thinking in that it is also changing the driving force of its economy from oil to tourism.

Both Israel and Japan are disciplined, but in a different way, give a Japanese person o cross a river, and he will build you a perfectly constructed bridge that shows their attention to details. Give an Israeli to cross a river, and he will create a bridge company that has a modular bridge system that is able to be modified to cross any river in the world.

I dont think Naweed is putting Africa down. It's known that there is much tribalism in the African continent which has prevented collaboration and cooperation between its many countries and people. I would love to see a prosperous Africa with similar successes as Israel has had. I believe that Africa is on its way to that. A number of Israeli companies are bringing innovation to subSahara Africa and this, I believe, will help serve a s a catalyst for more innovation and more collaboration.

If you or anyone is calling Israel illegitimate then you'd might as well call every country in the world an illegitimate one as Israel's history goes back thousands of years. There is historical, archeological, legal and moral evidence for Israel's right to exist. Israel will not be defeated by hatred and bigotry.

Great documental Wired. Love this series of videos based in business places like Shenzen or Israel in general. Keep it going, it's awesome. We may be able to find a place to get our libertarian paradise some day.

your libertarian paradise exists in places like Somalia. weird how more regulations and taxes equal a first world country (which you want to live in) but less regulation and taxation equals a third world country (which you refuse to move to).
@castronator29
7 жыл бұрын
+Kevin Clark Guys like you always come up with the same stuff. "Are you a libertarian? Go to Somalia then!" or "And the roads? What about the roads?. I think you are mixing concepts. I'm libertarian, but I don't believe in the total absence of the State. I'm not an AnarchoCapitalist. By the way, the only countries I see being Third World are the ones with crazy taxes and protectionism, just take a look at any chart of the most developed countries in the world and you are going to see that the majority of them are the ones who are very very open to business without lots of taxation and no regulations to business.
@shuki1
7 жыл бұрын
Gabriel, no western country has no regulations to business or even a low amount of regulations. Israel's high amount of regulation, literally trying to microregulate small things is due to a lack of a standardization mindset that is very slowly developing and a culture of everyone trying to game the system and outsmart others. Given that, it is ominous that the founder of the middle-class city of Rawabi (sadly missing parks within the Hong Kong style high rises), the future of the Palestinian Authority, showed his true feelings towards peace - the refusal to acknowledge his settler neighbours.
@Freshbott2

Please. Somalia's an ex colony which has been at war with and invaded by its neighbour for decades and is dealing with tribal conflicts within. If you think you can tax people into wealth, especially when their individual (libertarian) rights are non existent or not upheld, then you're dreaming. Libertarian doesn't mean anarchy. It means being free from intrusion whether by government or by others. Constitutional protection from and by government doesn't equal no government. Are you really that numb? Where do people pull that notion from?
@Msapere

Somalia was--and is--ruled by warlords for centuries before any foreign power invaded it's great lands. the "tribal conflicts" you mention are more complex than you think they are. Please do not minimize them.

The Shenzhen documentary was more attractive. I believe most of the time innovations occurs in small group of people/companies, Shenzhen is a place more likely to allow these things happen. Somehow you can feel the city is in chaos,it evolves all the time. Behind that, the sense of motivation, energy, diversity, uncertainty are absolutely amazing.

Lot of negative comments about both Israel and Palestine. and the thing is that we have a such situation that we have reached by whatever means that was, and whats important now is to make the best of it and make things work. Guys please settle your differences! Realize its not either or the sides religions or beliefs that are creating the problems rather the radicals and politicians that are out there messing it up As a normal citizen, I give two shits whether you are a Jew, a Muslim, a Christian, or a follower of any faith for that matter. I honestly don't care whether you are straight, gay transgender, etc. what i care about is a healthy environment and safe place to stay, and progress and see the world move forward together , through technological advancement. As this is now said, please be mindfull, humbly be self aware. There are alot of those that are just keeping the happiness in balance, and most of the time are not showing it. But this is not of a big issue, but part of the prevention that everyone must be kindly aware of. With humility, we might want to start answering the whys in this topic ourselves.🙏
