I worked closely with Kevin Spacey for 3-4 months early in his career. He is an incandescent actor, a true genius. And he had impeccable manners! I have never for one second believed any of the accusations against him! There must be some kind of 'event' behind the scenes that none of us knows about, that led to him being targeted by some nefarious folks. That is the only way I can understand someone choosing to make a "fake-umentary" against Kevin Spacey - and not, for example, one exposing P Diddy or any of the many, many proven and demonstrated criminally culpable "superstars" with a long trail of genuine victims behind them.

Having seen an interview with KS, I refused to watch said program. He has been found not guilty in two courts of law. This just felt like somebody's vengeance show. I'm glad it failed in the U.K. and was sorry to see that it played here, but it wasn't on one of the major channels at least. Frankly, I thought the whole thing disgusting. Accusations are given too freely, believed too quickly and the accused is cancelled before proven guilty. I believe in Innocent UNTIL PROVEN Guilty. When accusations turn out to be lies, The Accuser should be held to account for their wrongdoing and appropriately punished. The innocent should be made whole again as much as is possible. Seriously, if that were the case, I could take 80% of the boys at my university to court. But, if you weren't groped or grabbed at a party, you'd go back to Res and weep-and-wail! I feel terribly terribly sad for him. He brought so much value to the world, it's not right. I hope he comes back - and selects his roles carefully. (PS Can you remind me of the name of the film where he sacrificed himself legally making a video of himself (not) suffocating his beloved colleague - the one with the dimples, she was in The Truman Show. They were making a point about innocent people being wrongly accused. I'd like to watch it again.)

Not supporting bad deeds in any way, yet, its becoming so dangerous if not frightening to be alive in these times; the way we as a people get so desperate and do everything to live at discount of our fellow man is beyound comprehension. It rattles the mind and questions the human morality. There is no true person for anyone. God help us.

I had the privilege of watching a couple of productions at the old vic when Kevin Spacey was there. Great performances that he was, at least partially, responsible for.
@mariaashot564823 күн бұрын
I worked closely with Kevin Spacey early on in his career, in the USA. I also saw him as the definitive Richard III at the Old Vic: what a tour de force! I have never for one split second believed those who have accused him of, basically, assaulting them or imposing himself sexually. He is a courtly man and also someone keenly aware of his own reputation. Might he be awkward in romance? Plenty of people are, women as well as men! But it is also easy to manipulate a very famous man into a situation that can then be misrepresented as some kind of "crime"! Remember the accusations against Cristiano Ronaldo? He fought them vigorously and was vindicated. No one banned him from football. There have been, on the other hand, footballers & international film stars (Gerard Depardieu) who have been far more credibly accused and indeed who have sustained some lasting damage to their professional reputation. Placido Domingo, the opera superstar, comes to mind as one who was significantly damaged by credible accusations of groping leading ladies & thereby subjected to the ignominy of having to explain himself & apologise. Yet no one put Placido Domingo on trial, nor was anyone making films about those pretty awful blunders & promoting his alleged "victims" as martyrs of some kind! Domingo did not lose his career; his recordings have not been rubbished & he continues to appear & to produce - as well he should. Kevin Spacey was quite clearly Railroaded. Why, by whom, for what purpose? Perhaps he knows; perhaps some day we shall all know. For now, it is absurd to continue to attempt to destroy a Vindicated Artistic Genius with an indestructible talent, who still has a great deal to contribute... And, Neil Sean, since we share a love for nostalgia & retro film/TV/music, I wonder if you share my view that Kevin Spacey as Bobby Darin, in his delightfully escapist "Beyond the Sea" (that critics unnecessarily panned) is indeed a visual treat. He sings beautifully in it, and delivers an excellent recreation. Does he have a complicated psychology? Undoubtedly! Yet that is the very thing that makes him so effective at understanding the psyches of others... Not all film stars are good onstage; Kevin Spacey excels in both settings. He has taste, refinement and intelligence; his performances have layers upon layers of depth... I still vividly remember some of his performances from decades ago! It was profoundly wrong & unjust to throw him out of "House of Cards," a show that he embodied, that he put on the map, more than any of its writers or directors. I look forward to paying for and watching more of his creative output, wherever it next arrives, and in whatever genre.

Unfortunately, once arrested for something, today’s people judge them based on the premise that “there’s no smoke without fire “…. And then another artist is forever vilified without proof of guilt. I wish it wasn’t that way… but life is often unfair.

I have always enjoyed Kevin Spacey. The "documentary" was shown here in the U.S. as well on I.D., Investigative Discovery,, which shows true crime programs. When is it time to leave an innocent man alone?!

You should have watched the program and not just the interview. Having watched the interview (with Dan Woottton), I came away thinking, he gave the performance of his life.
Just like the docuseries c4 aired on JD & AH, it was a full blown hit piece. His name has been cleared TWICE. Let the man do what he's excellent at - acting
Thanks Neil. Having watched the Channel 4 and the Dan Wootton interview, I concluded that KS was guilty of ruining many(30 young men) lives. And just like MJ, was never found guilty in a court of law, but certainly 'guilty' in public opinion. This has not stopped me from watching his shows. However, I think it's okay that he has been cancelled.
As always, you have provided an interesting and unique take on things that really tend to readjust and reshuffle some of my sense of things. Cheers, Neil!

Sorry, Neil. Kevin needs to stay in London.
(Not very likely but we should try our best.) We have become a society of Victims on one hand and Exiled on the other, TOO Extremes and NO Common Sense.

It disgusts me today, that people do not remain INNOCENT until proven guilty! And their names are just shoved out into the ether for all to judge! KEVIN has been proven INNOCENT, so if i was those actors, i would APOLOGISE to him asap 💯🏴🇬🇧
He's Kevin Spacey - he doesn't need those desperate liars. I look forward to being entertained while Kevin enjoys the second half of his career.
Exonerated does not mean innocent, but be that as it may, it does mean not found guilty under the law. Yes money and fame often purchase privilege, but this is our justice system. This is what we must work with. Spacey was freed under our laws and should be allowed to live and work freely. Wouldn't you want the same treatment were you in his shoes? Leave him be.
Kevin Spacey is an amazing actor. He has been tried by a jury of his peers, found innocent, leave him alone. I’d love to see him in a few films.
Good evening Neil👋👋👋🇦🇺🇦🇺 he's been exonerated X2,move on besides.that tv channel is trash.
I loved the interview he did with Dan Wootton recently. It was enlightening, and he was very humble. The channel 4 hit job only gave him 5 days to respond.
Channel 4 are on a slippery slope to nothingness. The stuff they out is disgraceful. Especially when some has been found not guilty. I've seen in the past some great programmes. Why have they sunk to such nasty stuff.
I haven't watched any news reports about Mr Spacey's case. But I did hear that he was exonerated. Personally, I can't believe that old "stories" are allowed into legal arenas.
Kevin Spacey is also a fabulous singer!!
Good day Neil and all😊
Your take on this is just so enlighetening. And honest.
It infuriates me that anybody can make false accusations against someone and even though that someone is proved innocent in our legal system, their career has been ruined by someone looking for a quick payday. I adore Kevin Spacey and I really hope he can return to making the top notch movies and shows he always made. House of Cards tanked after he left. He WAS the show and no one was able to carry it afterwards. The producers shot themselves in the foot on that one.

I am so glad that this hit piece was a failure. Kevin Spacey is an amazing actor. The first movie I saw him in was, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. I actually watched if for John Cusack but found Kevin Spacey. He has admitted that he was an obnoxious man with some obnoxious behavior, can you imagine how many of us would be charged if that was a crime? He has been exonerated of the criminal charges, twice. He's lost his career and his money. What else do they want from him?
Kevin Spacey, brilliant actor, WHO cares about his private life? Plus he was found not guilty. Only those out to make MONEY. Just like ME TO movement. The starlets were FULLY AWARE what the business is about. Casting couch is part of the deal. However they weren't quite good enough for starring roles so 20 years later, they complain.
I had the privilege of watching a couple of productions at the old vic when Kevin Spacey was there. Great performances that he was, at least partially, responsible for.
One of the finest actors ever. Let him act and see what the viewers decide
I loved Kevin as an actor and don’t give a hoot about his private life..
I read the reasons the other week, channel four recorded this documentary before the trial had actually finished, fully expecting a guilty verdict which didn't happen. They had paid lots of money to make said documentary so still went ahead showing it without the verdict they wanted to try to make up for the expense they laid out.
Thanks Neil interesting 👍🏼
Nicely done sir.
Great actor! Have enjoyed all of his projects. He was/is one of the few actors that brought believability into a role. Whether guilty or not, it has not nor did not take away his remarkable performances Mr. Neil.
Kevin Spacey is one of the greatest actors of our time. Who cares about his private life. I don't want to hang out with him, I want to watch his next movie.
He disgraced himself and I’m sure people don’t want to watch something because they believe his pockets will be lined by all of it. He may have been exonerated by the judge, but he spoke in enough detail for people to realize that he did, in fact, pursue a younger man..even if that person may have lied about their age.
Channel four stitched him up and this is damage limitation. C4 had to react to Dan Wooton.
I met him once in London way way back many years he was a kind gentleman he held the door to our hotel where we staying at, can't remember what it was called now but we had a little chat nothing specific but just life in general.
Because he is sleazy, is why I am not interested in any of his movies. He makes my skin crawl.

Same for me. He plays super creepy roles, very well and often. Not my cup of tea.
Liam Neeson took away any respect I had for him when he played Rob Roy, the movie was an insult to Sir Walter Scott and the original novel Rob Roy. The storyline didn't represent what Sir Walter wrote, characters were discarded and a phony storyline was substituted. I for one actually read the novel and was looking forward to the movie, and boy was I disappointed, never watched anything with him in it again.
Your channel 4 Unmasked show is now on MAX. I watched it.... and since I have watched 3 exclusive interviews Kevin has given to media outlets....(I highly reccomend watching Kevin give those interviews) . Unbelievable the "additions" to the back stories of the people in unmasked. Also, his brother... dear God his miserable brother and the money he has tried ot get on collecting from a brother that Kevin has only seen 5-7 times since the 1990's
I feel sad for this talented man.
I’m looking forward to the demise of channel 4
