Seen old footage of Marilyn's funeral 60 years ago & this cemetery has certainly changed since then with add-ons & the skyscrapers in the background tho the chapel looks the same. That would have been a sad day when Marilyn died. Also on Peter Falk's grave, 'Just one more thing' should have been on his stone.

I met Theodore Bickel around 1998. He was performing in Fiddler On The Roof in San Francisco while I was performing in the cast of the Phantom of the Opera. My show ran 5 years during which time I met Betty Garrett and John Travolta. Betty Garrett's son was married to one of our cast members and John Travolta came to see our show because he was being considered for the role of the Phantom in the movie. His wife, Kelly Preston, was with him. You really found a plethora of famous gravesites. Good job!💕🙂

My folks always got a kick out of my statement that Richard Basehart was handsome. My uncle never let me live it down Thanks for showing it to us.Also loved Lorne Green. He had a hit with a spoken word record about Johnny Ringo. Anything with a Beatle name in it was bound to be a hit.

Back in the early '90's, I read in a magazine, or something, where a woman drove out to Westwood Village Cemetery one day. After finding Marilyns grave, she said that she, "laid down along side her grave and said her name three times out loud ... Marilyn,,, Marilyn,,, Marilyn", at which time, the ground beneath her began to rumble and shake, as if Marilyn was responding to her name being said. Funny, because, Marilyn isn't even in the ground, but is in the wall of an outdoor, open mausoleum/crypt, on the 2nd tier from the bottom. She must've been laying on Burt Lancaster or Mel Torme and irritating them, by calling them Marilyn. We were out at Westwood back in 2002 or 2004, etc, and found the cemetery very quiet and empty, which surprised me; considering how many celebrities are buried there. Finding the cemetery was tough though, since it's surrounded by buildings.

We visited Westwood Cemetery years ago. One of the workers told us they have to replace the front of Marilyn Monroe’s crypt at times as it is discolored from all the hands touching it. I left a dime in the crack of Dean Martin’s crypt. I wanted to see his more than any other’s. I really liked watching him on tv. I thought he was “swav” and a great partner with Jerry Lewis. He suffered greatly with the loss of his son, Dino, who died tragically when the jet he was flying crashed.

Times have changed haven’t they what a lovely era which was also in the early 60s when TV was full of singers with there shows or being guests on shows . I don’t know but those days are gone & I wish the world was more like that , these artist were so talented we will never see these kind again how sad .I enjoy seeing where all these people are resting these days .I hope they are all having a good time together if there is another dimension to this planet.

Peter Falk is in a grave the same as Matthau, O'Connor, Fawcett and some others - same layout against the wall. It's on the left side toward the back and has a fence around it. They are also separate plots but I can't remember if they are separated by hedges or not. It's been a while since I lived in LA.

Been there many times. I was interesting to get a bit more information about so many of the folks laid to rest at this location. It is such a comparatively small cemetery to those in the LA basin. Though I’d venture to say more persons of well known status within its bounds than any other cemetery location. Funny story about the fellow above Marilyn. Hugh had always wanted to be next to her. I am surprised that Joe D. Didn’t keep his place above her though. It is said that he always loved her. It is said that She and Joe spent their wedding night at a hotel in Paso Robles, CA. On their way back to LA from SF. A side story of the Jolson grave site. A co-worker years ago, shared he once worked at the cemetery where Jolson is at. That the Jolson grave was able to be lowered into an underground chamber in the evenings. Sometimes the mechanism would ‘stick’ and they’d get called out “Jolson is stuck again” go deal with it. Keep up the good work.

Only bad thing about Hillside Memorial Park is don’t go there on a Saturday, the cemetery is traditionally Jewish and with Saturday being the Jewish Religions Day of the Sabbath, no one is allowed in there as I have seen it closed up driving by there on the 405 Freeway as it can be easily seen from there. I also found out online that Moe Howard’s daughter is now next to him in a crypt right beside. Westwood is where you can find the highest number of past Hollywood Stars and Celebrities as the place is very small and concentrated together there. I have even found out that people who work in the office buildings around there, most don’t even know this cemetery/memorial park is there, as it most likely is very hidden away from the public view. I remember Richard Basehart doing a speech at the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics when they were in Los Angeles and a short time later after they were done, he passed away. I really liked Bettie Page and I have a wall picture of her too, she was the forerunner of things that we have today in society.

Another interesting video, but I do have one question. Why is George C Scott in a unmarked grave? Didn't he have any family, children, grandchildren? You would think someone would have put up a marker. I find that incredibly sad that no one did, not even a friend that would have thought to.

Hi Amy! Thanks for enjoying our videos. I find that TV theme songs are generally okay to use. I have had some of my early videos demonetized for copyrighted music but I learned I don't want to do that. I use a lot of music from the KZread audio library for creators. If I do use a song I try to keep it under 9 seconds, which usually doesn't trigger any problems. If I am talking over incidental background music that usually doesn't create any problems (I think it depends on how loud it is). Hope this helps.

He needs to go to Hollywood Graveyard and study up on the various types of graves, if he doesn’t know. Otherwise he did a great video. Author Dark can really give him some insight of various types of graves.

We must be close to the same age....it’s always amazed me how just about every trip that people think is bizarre, is my idea of “bucket list” trips! I don’t get to really take those since my hubby and I divorced, and I’m in Lake County now, still trying to get on with life after the Valley Fire destroyed my Beautiful little cabin built by my Grandfather in the 30s! There is some interesting history around this area, for sure...Kelseyville....sure, let’s name a town after a murderer and rapist! Lol ...land the same lack of logic hasn’t missed a single generation yet. I do think I have actually put roots down here, which still feels more serene that Fresno. What was once my vacation destination my entire life is still spiritually connected...if only I had been able to get the insurance after my aunts sudden death! But Grandpa built it o n pillar and post...and I was shopping for any broker who would ok it! Then those fires all started to become blatantly obvious to the country..land insurance companies...THE Valley Fire, 09/12/2015. We know now what they were covering up..l.lmy letters to BROWN AND OES were unfortunately ignored, regarding the Errors pointed out by my father under Reagan...Dad was CDO, OES DIRECTOR FOR THE STATE, REGION 5 And held a secret Position beyond that. Brown ignored it and I wi as was literally threatened by a local politician because of my “unreceived” letter warning of major errors ..like one way in and out..not notifying entire communities of the fire, nobody but Me...1 person 5 foot 3 and 100 lbs in my 50s to rescue an elderly couple and their paraplegic son, plus 3 dogs and embers were burning me! Their son died the following day from the sever fear and sttress of thee entire situation...They refused to name him a victim of the Valley Fire because he didn’t die that very day! He had been taken care of by his Octogenarian parents for nearly 2 decades, .......Coincidence? Lol...and the corruptions continue to ooze! I just would like my small basic place back. I miss my deer. I still own the property' but politicians wrote their new codes, and although I was guaranteed Grandfathered status, one cannot now live in a travel trailer on their own property unless they have a permanent dwelling. Well the money I had saved from FEMA, my retirement and SOC SEC would have sufficed, until I’m forced to pay $850 per month to rent a space for my 17 ft Toy hauler. They threatened horrible things that they would do to me. My family Founded Anderson Springs, and my taxes ...l.since they started have never been late in that piece of property..the place was built back when taxes were designated by the number of closets one had...there were no closets in there for that reason! Lol😂

Great video. I just ran across it. I thought I had watched all your videos! Too bad you can’t get into the old Ponderosa Ranch in Tahoe to film. It’s a shame it closed and some rich guy is just sitting on the property and doing nothing. I heard that he was going to develop it into houses or some type of resort. But nothing has happened, last I heard.
